The homophobic thread :>

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I thought it was weird when a co-worker told me she'd fallen in love with a puppet.

Now she's planning on marionette.

Ireland isn't merely conservative. It's a country where divorce was only legalized in 1997, and homosexuality decriminalized in 1993.

While the final totals aren't in yet from their referendum on approving same-sex marriage, the BBC reports that the result became apparent not long after counting was underway, with about 75 percent in favor. Campaigners opposed to same-sex marriage have conceded defeat.

Tick tock.

40 of 43 Constituencies Counted, YES 62%, NO 37%, Turnout 62.44%. 1st nationwide vote in favor of SSM.

Now, Australia and parts of the US are the only developed, English speaking nations where it's not legal.

It looks like the Phairy Phag Phlags will be phlying high in gay old Ireland doesn't it? Goddamn fags and twat twinkies came out from under every shit pile to be found. Yep, Australia and the US will be next to phagitize. You faggot lovers and lovers of filth and debauchery will be dancing in the streets. That's OK, if there is a heaven, that will leave more room for the ones who aren't asslickers and cocksuckers.

I'm thinking there are quite a few ways to disqualify oneself from Heaven, and probably people like Homo don't have to worry about how much room there is there. What would be funny if Homo were disqualified for, say, coveting his neighbors ass and got sent to Hell with the cocksuckers.

The fight over same-sex marriage is essentially over in the US. The hold-out states are simply becoming irrelevant.

It's already official that for federal employees it doesn't matter if you live in a hold-out state. If you were legally married in a pro-civil rights state, you still get marriage benefits and protections. This is also the route that national corporations are taking.

Nor can the federal government, military and major corporations take away marriage benefits when they transfer someone to a hold-out state. Their marriage benefits will be the same even in those states. Any attempt to block this will force REAL money and legal muscle into the battle.

With the number of Americans who support same-sex marriage over 50% and increasing - and far over 50% for younger voters, the Republican Party can see the writing on the wall. Dick Cheney and other prominent Republicans already endorse same-sex marriage. Once the Cruz/Santorum/etc. clown car burns itself out in 2016, the Republican Party will become the civil rights party that supports same-sex marriage, And Always Has.

As for Australia, they've had plenty of polls on the issue over the last decade. Support for same-sex marriage has been slowly but steadily climbing, now at 65%-72% depending on the poll. With over 75% of the population wanting a referendum on the issue. Expect that referendum to be announced any time now.

Hope This Helps!

Don't give up those day jobs fellas. I guess that should be don't
come out of retirement. However you want to put it, to have
what was a very conservative country not that long ago vote to
legalize gay marriage with a yes vote of 62 percent is pretty
amazing, almost magically delicious.

And with the Vatican telling them they're all going to Hell in a handbasket, too. It's likely the most significant loss of Church power in a short time period ever.

Ireland has experienced some major church child sex abuse scandals in recent years, on a larger scale than the US and Canada. Complete of course, with the standard practice of church officials covering up and shuffling the abusers to new unsuspecting parishes once caught. The church just doesn't have the moral authority that it used to.
