Re: The homophobic thread :>
In a tiny village lived an old maid. In spite of her old age, she was still a virgin. She was very proud of it. She knew her last days were getting closer, so she told the local undertaker that she wanted the following inscription on her tombstone:
"Born as a virgin, lived as a virgin, died as a virgin"
Not long after, the old maid died peacefully, and the undertaker told his men what the lady had said. The men went to carve it in, but found that there was not enough room on the tombstone. Instead, they simply wrote:
"Returned unopened"

I doubt that Fayetteville parents would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space. We should never place the preference of an adult over the safety and innocence of a child.

North Carolina Senate overrides governor's veto of marriage opt-out bill
... 32-16 vote. The legislation now goes back to the Republican-controlled state House of Representatives, which passed it in February by a margin wide enough to override the veto....

You're probably right.Vrede too wrote:Maybe 5 or 10 years.
I expect it'll be like with Canada: Same-sex marriage will be approved federally once and for all. The world doesn't end, frogs don't fall from the sky, Christians aren't forced to gay-marry. And the issue simply disappears overnight.
BTW, that was ten years ago next month. Same-sex marriage became entrenched in law federally in July 2005.
Most Canadian provinces and territories already allowed same-sex marriage by then. Americans were already crossing the border to marry. Some US states, though they didn't allow same-sex marriage locally, recognized the Canadian marriages. This was at a time when Canada was under enormous pressure to stop American health plans from buying drugs in Canada:

I posted this in the race thread, but it probably belongs over here.

Well, so much for unnatural, this list is just a fraction of the unnatural animal kingdom.
Nature/Nuture, gotta go with nature on this one.

So that puts homosexuals on the same level as wild animals. Interesting ..... And I was taught that mankind was supposed to be of a higher level of intelligence. Imagine that.rstrong wrote: Wikipedia: Homosexual behavior in animals
