Guns, race, religion, terror, wingnut thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yup. We do have these every few years. The shooter killed his two brothers at home, and then two more people at the school.

La Loche is a pretty remote place. The sort of place with lots of hunting, especially with the price of bringing in food. The sort of place where you leave town to find work. The sort of place where teenagers might have been content growing up a couple generations ago, but now with satellite TV, they know what they're missing out on.

And the Internet; more'n likely ranks higher than satellite TV.

A sixth individual was arrested by the Oregon State Police in Burns, Oregon, about 1.5 hours later. The FBI said a seventh person was later arrested, 50-year-old Peter Santilli, an independent journalist who livestreamed events at the refuge.

The FBI said they also arrested an eighth person in Peoria, Arizona, in relation to the occupation.

All of those arrested face federal charges of conspiracy to use force, intimidation or threats to impede federal officers from discharging their duties, the FBI said....

tarpman the sovereign citizen who died had over 50 foster kids over the past few years (working the ranch). as did bundy. as do most all sovereign citizens.

they prey off of society, as bundy never paid his lease fees but lived off the foster kids gubbermnt check and their sweat, as did tarpman.

these people are mostly out of sight to the media, but often pose real threat, as with timmy McVeigh, the keough brothers and the bundys.
we had one in Pensacola a few years back that stayed in the national news for awhile, but was mostly presented as wonderful people who took 14 foster children into their home. there's money to be made in them orphans. Locally there were stories about how this sovereign citizen would sue any government agency that wrote his foster kid's names on paper. Not believing in anything and hanging out with assholes got him and his wife shot in a midnight raid to steal his safe.

This group should be labeled as domestic terrorists and should not be allowed to indoctrinate foster children.

The "sovereign citizen" / "freeman on the land" types regularly end up in court here in Canada, and it never, ever goes well for them. A few weeks ago here in Winnipeg even one of the supporters, sitting in the court, got arrested for contempt of court.

I miss the one on the old forum who claimed to give "tax advice" to others. He kept giving examples of people who won fights against the IRS for the right to avoid taxes under various delusions. And in every case I could do a quick Google search and find that no, they didn't win.

No doubt the sovereign citizen types would consider the above to be "statist." But no, in every case those dragged into court were utterly delusional and usually trampling on someone else's rights.

I remember that guy, he also had some conspiracy about sarcophagus's being in a warehouse near Hville, NC. I think he was a big InfoWars fan.

My memories are fading. I kept juicy quotes for awhile, then fell out of the habit after years and years of stupidity.

Actually, The Seventeenth Amendment was never properly ratified. I have seen the proof with my own eyes at the National Archives and from documents obtained by Bill Benson from all 48 state legislatures.

His treatise is called simply "Proof the 17th Amendment Was Not Ratified." I also collected court certified documents on this from the California State Archives. They are incontrovertible and prove beyond a doubt that then Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan, on May 31, 1913, knowingly and willfully issued a memo declaring the Seventeenth Amendment ratified, even though he knew the required number of states DID NOT ratify it.

I thought it was Uriah_Heep under a later, now forgotten name.

Uriah_Heep is the one who brought me into this circle. I was doing a web search on another topic, and one of the top results was a post of his on the "North American Union" that we'd all be part of by 2005, 2008, 2010 or whenever. I dropped in to respond.

Oh yeah, I remember Uriah, but I don't remember what his other incarnations were. He used to link to InfoWars for "proof" of his rantings. He may have even linked to Enquirer, although that's probably a bit mainstream for him.

One article said that the Cowliphate had numbered as many as 30. 11 are in jail, 1 is dead, 4 remain at the Refuge and the rest have split, some of whom will probably be arrested down the line. Meanwhile, perhaps somewhat justified sympathy for the Hamptons has been made radioactive and the odds of their early release have lessened. YeeHawdi revolution is a tough business.

boat may love this one

A billboard at the Village Mall in Auburn Alabama rented by Life Savers Ministries which has, according to its web site, “six school buses and a magnificent facility of its own where hundreds of boys and girls are brought from around 20 different rough and tough locations throughout Opelika and Auburn,” has been taken down following backlash from the surrounding community.

The billboard featured five smiling white children and an inspirational Bible verse: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6).

Oh, and a quote from someone who had his own youth program, of sorts: Adolf Hitler: “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.” In fact, the words on the billboard were first spoken by Adolf Hitler during a 1935 speech, and are traditionally tied to Nazi youth programs.

Oddly, there is no actual advertisement for Life Saver Ministries on the billboard. However, Lamar Advertising’s Montgomery office has confirmed that the Opelika-based ministry had rented the sign.

The billboard was taken down per LSM’s request on Tuesday.

“We are pulling the billboard and certainly never intended to cause confusion. … Herbert Hoover would have been a far better one to quote when he said, ‘Children are our most valuable resource,'” founder James Anderegg told the Ledger-Enquirer. “We are a children’s organization and had honorable intentions and nothing less.”

We’d like to know in what context they could possibly feel it appropriate to quote Hitler in relation to a youth program.

So I'm feeling a little fished here. The "Adolph Hitler" was photoshopped onto the billboard pic, right? But the quote is real. They didn't really know who they were quoting?
I think I'll call them with somebody else's phone just to play them some Nazi music.. http://holocaustmusic.ort.org/music/
