Ah, now we know why rstrong was snippy enough to start this thread.
A 6'9, 410-pounder scored the biggest touchdown of all time for Team USA vs. Canada

Nah. Most Canadians only care about hockey, and I don't even care about that.Vrede too wrote:Ah, now we know why rstrong was snippy enough to start this thread.
The American advantage in Olympic hockey is that on the way home they have no trouble going through customs.

I really wanted to try getting into sports. But there were too many seasons to catch up on.

Re: SPORTS!!!
Couples like this are an argument for preemptive sterilization.Johnny Manziel's wife set a world-record half marathon pace or more likely cheated for it
It’s been a rough week for the Manziel family.
Johnny Manziel is out of a job again after his Canadian Football League team released him. No other team in the league is allowed to sign him, either, though the Alliance of American Football (AAF) offered a workout for the former NFL player Friday.
With his name prominent in headlines again, his wife is under scrutiny for a half marathon she recently ran. Bre Tiesi-Manziel took part in the Run Like A Diva half marathon Feb. 16 in Temecula, California, and is being accused of cheating....

Re: SPORTS!!!
Manziel is not the first QB or other football star to party as hardy as he plays, but Manziel is mistaken if he thinks that he's as bullet-proof as legends Paul Hornung, Alex Karras, Broadway Joe, or even more recent rowdiers like PacMan Jones. Somebody should have told him he has to do something worthwhile on the field before trying to get by with assholing off the field.
I don't know what he did in Montreal, but it was the league - not the team - that booted him, so it wasn't just something like showing up late for practice or even pissing off the coach.
Dude had an opportunity very few people get, and he pissed it away. I've got no sympathy for him whatsoever.

They're being tight-lipped about the reason, we'll see if it leaks. Gotta be big to piss off all of Canada.O Really wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:03 pm... Johnny Manziel net worth: $6 Million
Not the tens of millions he could have by now, but enough to never have to work again if he moderately restrains his lifestyle.

Re: SPORTS!!!
It will eventually leak, no doubt. But given the list of conditions the league gave him to qualify him to play, it could also be somewhat of a technicality, but just enough for the league to decide he is or is likely to be more trouble than he's worth.

Re: SPORTS!!!
From Hamilton Spectator, article regarding Manziel's time with the Tiger-Cats:
"There is a lot of conjecture about what Manziel did — it's probably more what he didn't do — to warrant his expulsion from the league. Some of the talk wonders if he chose not to abide by his agreement with the CFL (to take counselling and certain medication) in order to secure his contractual freedom.
Now that he has actually thrown passes in real games for the first time in three years, opportunities in the form of the AAF and the looming XFL should create some kind of bidding war for his services, if only for the publicity he would bring either NFL-shadowed league"

It's Canada, obviously he neglected to say "Sorry" when he crushed an opposing team. Bastard, eh?
