The LEO thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

O Really wrote:"Civil war between races"?? Let's see. Total population is maybe 12% black. Unlikely many non-black Hispanics would join with the blacks, but let's say some do. Total population on the "black" side might be 20%. Even if 100% of those joined the "rebels" they're not exactly distributed very well to engage in much of a war. And a lot of them aren't exactly street warrior types. Mississippi has the highest percentage of blacks, as well as the highest percentage of obesity. I don't know, but I suspect some of that overlaps. So the "white" side has most of the military, most of the police, most of the civilian weaponry, geographical advantage, economic advantage, and besides, it's unlikely current black leaders are as stupid as the South Carolina hotheads in 1861.

But there are a lot of pissed off people out there, and for good reason. Some will certainly be willing to man the barricades, despite how that worked out in France.
O Really, when has Seth Milner ever let logic get in the way of his overwhelming fears?

Re: Police Officers Asked to Stop Dining at Local Restaurant, Washington Sheriff Says

Dear Sheriff Will Reichardt,

As a trained and experienced investigator I'm sure that you can see at least 2 theories of the event in question.

1) The very unlikely scenario that any small town restaurateur would say that cops aren't welcome.

2) The very plausible scenario that hypersensitive crybaby cops went public before ascertaining whether there was a language barrier misunderstanding.

I admire your professionalism and look forward to your solving of this mystery.

Sincerely,

I bet you impressed the hell out of that sheriff by upstaging his professionalism with your own!

Speaking of professionalism, you say you're a nurse; someone who in my book is dedicated to their job and are sincere in their efforts to often go beyond the call of duty to help someone in need. (as are most in law enforcement) What I find amazing is that someone such as yourself, with all your compassion, caring, and training can still have all that room left inside to be a complete asshole. Where's it going to end? How's it going to end?

About that cold wind . . . and my ignorance and fear. The walking fountain of misinformation says I'm fearful of further killings.

Haunting Post from Officer Montrell Jackson, Killed in Baton Rouge

Image
Officer Jackson posted this on July 8

Officer Montrell Jackson was killed in the line of duty today. This heartbreaking post from in on July 8 is a sobering look at his thoughts. He was a father who beautifully expressed both sides of this sad situation.

Kinsey told WSVN that his patient was holding a toy truck, not a gun. He said he tried to explain the situation to officers.
We've always known there's been good cops and bad cops, what's chilling now are scared cops who shoot first and ask questions later.

No. Those two assassinations of police only happened in last couple weeks. The "scared cops who shoot first and ask questions later" were around long before that. The endless videos of police executing blacks - other too, but mostly blacks - started a couple years back.

But the shooting was always happening. What changed is that cell phone cameras became common, along with Facebook and YouTube video sharing. Cops using bullets as a substitute for exclamation points were always around, but now they were documented even for unbelievers.

That really should have ended it. Instead there were prominent refusals to indict officers blatantly murdering people on camera. Meanwhile people are learning that it isn't "just" happening in their home town or the deep south; it was happening everywhere. And though it may be very few cops responsible, the district attorneys wouldn't prosecute them, and the police unions would stop the cities and towns from firing them. What happened next - the assassinations - is horrible but predictable.

And this week you get an utterly delusional black officer endorsing Trump at the GOP convention and declaring that "Black Lives Matter" is the cause.

He didn't mean to shoot Kinsey; he meant to shoot the autistic kid that was pointing the toy truck at him.

It's both revealing and depressing that it didn't. Bad cops just don't care and the odds of them getting punished remain unacceptably low.
rstrong wrote:... What happened next - the assassinations - is horrible but predictable....
The assassins think that it will somehow make cops back off and there certainly is conversation about fixing the broken system going on. However, violent resistance to police usually makes them even more repressive, and with better and more armaments.

Oh god.

I've got some friends that are "soveriegn citizens"

"I didn't choose to become a citizen of the United States of America, which is not a country but a corporation. I didn't have a choice to join this corporation, I'm therefore not subject to the laws... jet fuel can't melt steel beams... sheeple."

They call these statements "truth bombs", and if you disagree you're not "conscious and awakened" like they are.

Also, to add - those dollar bills in your wallet? They're not real. You've been fed a lie and only think they're valuable, but they're not.
