Sleazy Santos

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I'm hoping that a Democrat takes Santos' place.
NY3 has been a Dem district since the 2012 election, and the vote for the RepuQ pretending to be George Santos was a surprise.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York% ... on_results

I think it's a pretty safe bet that a Dem will win the special election and the 2024 general. In fact, the GQP really ought to be too ashamed to put anyone up, but they have no shame.
Finding a Santos Successor Is Proving No Simple Task for Republicans

 All of their top prospects are Sleazy Santos-connected, a seditionist, otherwise hopelessly flawed or even Dem.
They went with a compliant Dem
Top House Republican Rallies For Candidate Mazi Pilip On Long Island
Across the street, her Democratic opponent, former Rep. Tom Suozzi, accused Pilip of “hiding.”

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) headlined a Saturday campaign rally for Nassau County Legislator Mazi Melesa Pilip, the Republican nominee in a special election to fill former Rep. George Santos’ House seat in Long Island and Queens.

Emmer’s presence at the nearly 300-person gathering underscored the seriousness with which both major parties are taking the Feb. 13 race to fill New York’s 3rd Congressional District. The contest ― between Pilip and former Rep. Tom Suozzi, a Democrat ― provides Republicans a chance to demonstrate continued success in Long Island, the site of one of the most dramatic rightward shifts in the country in recent years. And if they lose Santos’ seat, congressional Republicans will also come that much closer to losing their fragile House majority.

... Notably, Pilip did not mention Suozzi. And neither she nor any of the many Republican speakers who preceded her mentioned former President Donald Trump, who came that much closer to clinching the Republican presidential nomination on Tuesday. Biden carried New York’s 3rd by 8 percentage points in 2020, but Santos flipped its Democratic House seat by a nearly identical margin in 2022.

Asked whether omitting Trump’s name was a strategic political choice, D’Esposito, a first-term Long Island Republican who spoke at the event, said that at least in his case, it was not.
Riiight, it's just a coincidence that not one mentioned ex-PINO
... D’Esposito has not endorsed Trump, but has said he will support the Republican presidential nominee. Pilip, who remained a registered Democrat until recently, has the same stance....
:wtf: It's adorable that they think that any R, even an ironically fake one, can succeed Sleazy Santos in this purple district. Feb. 13 landslide for Suozzi. Watch.

Not quite a landslide.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_New_ ... l_election
Tom Suozzi Democratic 93,183 53.92%
Mazi Melesa Pilip Republican 79,290 45.88%
Good enough.

I was thinking this morning that the asshole may not report to prison....he doesn't have to go until July I think. It would not surprise me if he commits suicide. He knows he's too stupid to be a fugitive. And he don't have the money to leave the country. Hell, with any lick ICE will see his name in a list of MS-13 members and be whisked off to Bluebonnet TX and then to El Salvador.

With Dementia Don if you flatter and beg long enough all things are possible, no matter how big a creep you are.

Santos released from prison, with attorney hailing Trump as 'greatest president' ever
God bless President Donald J Trump the greatest President in U.S. history! 🇺🇸

I really have to thank Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene who fought like a lion on George’s behalf. Also to Representatives Lauren Boebert and Tim and Anna Paulina Luna who have also been so very supportive. Also, Former Congressman Matt Gaetz whom I was in regular contact with, as well as the greatest DOJ team ever assembled including Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Associate Deputy Attorney General Diego Pestana, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Prisons Josh Smith, U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, Senior Advisor to the U. S. Pardon Attorney Neil McCabe! Thank you all so very much 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

President Trump is absolutely right when he says that the U.S. is back! As a retired NYPD police officer having experienced first hand the typical government dysfunction and red-tape, I am absolutely amazed to see how functional, efficient, and cooperatively this administration works together to get the job done, especially with their legislative counterparts. If only the Democrats would rejoin “Team USA”. I am so proud to be an American!🇺🇸

Donald J. Trump

George Santos was somewhat of a “rogue,” but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison.... at least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN! George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life!

I wouldn't have been surprised at a Ghislane pardon or commutation, but I really don't see the point in Santos. He was never in position to do anything for Trump and is pretty much rejected even by repugs.
