Who says you and Solar have nothing in common?
Hormones are pretty much universal.
Are you sure that Solar made it past being a tween?
All true. Truth is gone in this miserable Spring, too.THIS university took away a student’s diploma over pro-Palestinian grad speech. Here’s what he said
New York University said that it withheld a student’s diploma after he condemned “genocide” in Gaza in his graduation speech on Wednesday (May 15), calling it a violation of the student’s commitment to comply with school rules.
Logan Rozos told the crowd during his speech, “As I search my heart today in addressing you all … the only thing that is appropriate to say in this time and to a group this large is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine.”
Following this, the NYU spokesperson John Beckman accused Rozos of lying about what he planned to say in his address to “express his personal and one-sided political views”. He added that the student’s diploma would be withheld as NYU seeks disciplinary action against him.
... NYU said it “strongly denounces” and was “deeply sorry” for comments made by Rozos. “This moment was stolen by someone who abused a privilege that was conferred upon him,” the university added.
What did Logan Rozos say in his speech?
... “The genocide currently occurring is supported politically and military by the United States, is paid for by our tax dollars and has been live-streamed to our phones,” he said.
“I condemn this genocide and complicity in this genocide,” he added, without specifically mentioning Israel.
Jackboot lackeys for Israeli RWers.... NYU is among the 10 universities that are being investigated by US President Donald Trump’s antisemitism task force.
If the minority is White and RW the GQP bravely steps up.
US State Department orders embassies to resume processing Harvard student visas
The US State Department ordered diplomatic posts around the world to “resume processing” of Harvard University student and exchange visitor visas on Friday after a judge halted President Donald Trump’s latest attempt to block international students from coming to the institution.
I guess this won't be the case for a constitutional crisis. Nor was KAG in the end.The new guidance replaced one that posts had received earlier that same week – calling on them to refuse visa applicants for students and researchers going to Harvard – due to the temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by US District Judge Allison Burroughs.
“Effective immediately, consular sections must resume processing of Harvard University student and exchange visitor visas,” the cable states, adding that “no such applications should be refused” as the presidential proclamation had ordered.
The cable was signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio....

DemocratNorth Carolina sues federal officials over $6.8 billion freeze in education funding
Twenty-Five states, including North Carolina, are suing the Secretary of Education, Director of the Office of Management and Budget and President Donald Trump, for freezing more than $6.8 billion in congressionally appropriated education funding. North Carolina would be short $165 million which could cost nearly 1,000 education jobs.
“Congress had appropriated the funds, had approved the funds, to come to the districts across the state including Helene districts and now you have some federal government officials who have decided to simply, at the very last minute, decided to withhold those dollars,” North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction Mo Green said.
MAGA hates kids and Congress.... According to Attorney General Jeff Jackson's office, if the promised funding is not delivered it would cut the state's federal funding by 10%....
North Carolina's public education funding is already near the bottom nationally and if these funds remain frozen Green said some schools will have to increase class size or cut professional development opportunities.
After-school and English learning programs could also be impacted.
“The Department of Education just does not have the authority to say, 'well we’ve decided that we’re not going to hand out those funds,' that is against the law,” Jackson said. “These are congressionally created programs, congressionally funded and if that money goes away for a lot of these programs North Carolina, our schools, we still have an obligation to do the work. They’re just going to have to find that money by making cuts in other areas, that’s why this doesn’t make sense from any angle.”
Jackson cited 10 laws broken in the lawsuit.
In the meantime, $6.8 billion remains frozen as districts across the country ready to return to the classroom.
Green and Jackson, both Democrats, believe this should not be a partisan issue.
"This is a commitment issue and a failure to honor a commitment,” Green said.
MAGA loves the wackadoodle version of the Constitution this SCOTUS refers to. Radio news said that Dementia Don is 15 for 15 in its "emergency" requests. I thought it had lost a couple.

Lawrence County Director of Schools Michael Adkins is under fire for a new policy that rejects doctor’s notes as valid excuses for student absences. Oklahoma will require teachers from NY, CA to prove they back 'America First'
Teachers from California and New York who want to work in Oklahoma public schools will be required to pass a certification test to prove they share the state's conservative political values.
Regardless of the subject or grade they teach, they'll have to show they know "the biological differences between females and males" and that they agree with the state's American history standards, which includes elements of a conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party stole the 2020 presidential election from President Donald Trump, which fact checkers have said are false.
The state Department of Education will implement the new certification test for teachers from the two largest Democrat-led states "who are teaching things that are antithetical to our standards" to ensure newcomers "are not coming into our classrooms and indoctrinating kids," Oklahoma schools Superintendent Ryan Walters, said in an interview with USA TODAY.
Walters has dubbed the new requirement an "America First" certification, in reference to one of Trump's political slogans.
Oklahoma's Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt appointed Walters, a Republican, to the helm of the state's Department of Education in September 2020 and voters then elected him for a second term in November 2022.
Imagine that.Oklahoma is offering teaching bonuses that go up to $50,000 to attract teachers from across the nation and has seen "a dramatic increase in teachers wanting to come to Oklahoma," Walters said. The new test is meant to ensure they weed out teachers with opposing views from the state's standards. The state, like many others, has a persisting teacher shortage.
Horrors.... "A lot of the credit goes to Gavin Newsom," Walters said. He alleged California under the governor has implemented lessons on "gender theory," and that won't be allowed in Oklahoma schools. (The California Healthy Youth Act, passed in 2016, requires that public school lessons across the state "must be inclusive of LGBTQ students" and same-sex relationships and teach students about "gender, gender expression, gender identity, and explore the harm of negative gender stereotypes" and "about all sexual orientations and what being LGBTQ means.")
MAGA = Whiny LIARS, alwaysOklahoma's 'America First' test
Nonprofit conservative media company Prager U is helping Oklahoma's state department of education develop the test.
The company previously helped develop the state's new high school history curriculum standards, which includes lessons on how to dissect the results of the 2020 election, including learning about alleged mail-in voter fraud, "an unforeseen record number of voters" and "security risks of mail-in balloting." ...
"Walters' Kids" will grow up without critical thinking skills, ill-equipped to cope with reality and incompetent to compete in the world.Teachers' union leaders: Test will be 'a huge turn off' to teachers amid 'serious teacher shortage crisis'
... "Ryan Walters appears to be trying out for MAGA in chief, not educator in chief, because everything that he's doing is about the culture wars, not about the reading, writing and arithmetic," she said. "If he wants to be MAGA in chief then go be MAGA in chief. But let someone else be educator in chief and focus on other things people deserve, which is reading, literacy and wraparound services – and actual teachers who want to be in Oklahoma."
What part of "illegal" does MAGA not understand?... The state teachers union told its members in a July 11 letter, which Elledge provided to USA TODAY, that Walters "has no legal authority to vet certified teachers based on political ideology."
They say that's because "licensing and certification are governed by state statute, not personal opinion or partisan preferences" and state law "requires us to recognize out-of-state teaching credentials."
The letter references part of the state education code that says it "must issue certificates to qualified teachers from other U.S. states and territories if they meet basic requirements, including a criminal background check." ...
It would all about nothing had OK applied to all out of state teachers. A bad look.
If OK gets away with this, such 'Loyalty to Trump' tests will be imposed by more red states and to apply to more prospective teachers. Watch.
In any rational, law-abiding, constitutionally sound world, Walters and Oklahoma will have their asses handed to them. On the other hand, now they might get away with it. Doomed.During a case in 1972, Cole v. Richardson, the court declared four requirements needed for an oath to clear First Amendment muster:[17]
It cannot go against the First or Fourteenth Amendment rights.
The oath cannot keep an employee from participating in protected public speaking.
Freedom of association cannot be used in oath as protected by the Constitution.
The oath should be direct and clear, so no question comes to what is meant.
