Can't make this (stuff) up

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Well, those were just guesses; it's quite difficult to rationalize the decisions of someone with a reptilian brain.

Sunday is Nathan Bedford Forrest Day here in TN. Imagine that.

Lee now in favor of changing Confederate proclamation

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee changed course on Monday and declared he's now in favor of amending a law that requires the state to honor Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest, an early leader of the Ku Klux Klan.

Lee tweeted on Monday he will work to change a decades-old statute requiring governors to sign a proclamation designating July 13 as "Nathan Bedford Forrest Day." ...
The headline should be: Lee dismisses Forrest

“owner Stephen Gore” - Can't make this shit up.
... The lab was raided by the FBI in 2014, but the testimonies detailing what the agents found have just been made public because of the lawsuits....
That's a long time to keep something so lurid secret.
... Mr Gore pleaded guilty in October 2018 to illegal control of an enterprise,
Is that different from control of an illegal enterprise?
and was sentenced to one year of deferred jail time and four years probation.
Seems light, I wonder what's up with that.

Yeah, I thought his charges and his sentence were both lacking. I've heard of folks being charged with desecration of a corpse; why wasn't he charged with that? Especially after attaching the woman's head to a man's body. Damn.

Maybe here's why. It was mostly legal. I did not know that.

Defrauding the donors? Your link does discuss that at the end with a different case.

I know very little about it - I was just surprised the practice was even sorta close to maybe legal. I did a lot of work several years ago for a tissue bank, whom I referred to as my "ghouls." Seemed it was pretty tightly regulated and run. But there was no banking of whole parts, certainly no bucket of dicks, unless you count the acquisition team that bought them out. There was one incident in which an employee filed workers' compensation for the mental distress and PTSD he had from being visited by some ghosts of people from whom he had "harvested' tissue. Said he'd be watching TV at night and they'd come sit down with him.

I hope that the transplant side of the industry is heavily regulated.

 I bet that PTSD employee had been "abusing" the samples in some way, or else he was just going crazy. He will find his dick in a box next.

Oh it was never in question that the guy was bat-slobbery crazy. At issue was whether his job caused it. And, being Florida, that question got serious consideration. Florida workers comp attorneys are some of the most creative people on earth.

India Almost Sank Its Own $2.9 Billion Submarine by Leaving a Hatch Open

They would have been okay, but when they called tech support for info. on making the sub seaworthy they got an American and couldn't understand a word he said.

Comments:
My 95 Crown Victoria has a light to let me know when a door is ajar. But that is a luxury vehicle, I guess you can't expect fancy things like that on a basic trim level submarine.
Screen doors on submarines are a bad idea.
It's a learning process.
Too bad, I hope they dont't forget the hatch when traveling to the moon.

Bad stuff on the chair

I'll settle for my $2 tacos from the food truck that business insider rated as the 2nd best taco in the USA
