Surviving a second Trump admin*

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I don't want to quibble over whether any poll is better than another or whether there's a 2 or 6 point margin of error. I just want to know how in the eff do 42% of peopled polled in a CBSNews report "approve" of Trump's first 6 months? Forty effin' two percent! For comparison, post Watergate cover-up, Nixon was around 24% soon before he let the door hit him on the ass on the way out. LBJ was at 38% just before declining to run again. And those two looked like the saints of statesmanship compared to Trump. Take the war away from both of those guys and they would have been considered to do pretty good jobs.

42%! No wonder the country is in the toilet.

One difference with Nixon and LBJ was that members of their own parties had joined the opposition. With the current GQP being nearly unanimous in its solidarity with Dementia DonOLD maybe RepuQ Americans feel justified in their stance?

Or, they're idiots.

Now explain this.

Nah, never mind. The Trump supporters think it's going to implicate democrats.

Congrats Senate RepuQs.

New low.

:angry-banghead:
On the Nomination (Confirmation: Emil Bove III, of Pennsylvania, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit )

YEAs 50
NAYs 49
Not Voting 1

Collins (R-ME), Nay
Murkowski (R-AK), Nay
Hagerty (R-TN), Not Voting. Congrats, neoplacebo. I can't find an explanation on a website that's otherwise full of slobbering adoration for Dementia DonOLD. His non-vote may not have been a political statement. Hagerty did not vote on 2 other nominations yesterday. Early start on his summer recess?
FU, NC Sens.

There was also this vote to confirm:

On the Nomination (Confirmation: Susan Monarez, of Wisconsin, to be Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention )

YEAs 51
NAYs 47
Not Voting 2
Hagerty (R-TN)
Sullivan (R-AK)

Wiki: Susan Monarez
At a glance she is the MOST qualified of any DonOLD pick I've seen. Idk why KINO apparently likes her, nor why the Dems unanimously opposed her. Reflexive at this point?

Still no vote on Krazy Kim's posting to Greece.

Trump Brazenly Using Government Resources To Put Money In His Own Pocket
The White House treated a marketing event at his for-profit golf club as an official act and helped him promote it.

 Most corrupt admin* ever.
... Asked about his use of government resources to promote his own business, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on the flight home that he was unaware of any concern.

“I haven’t heard that. No. I haven’t heard that.
Shitty staff, or LYING again?
Did you get to see my drive in the first hole?” Trump said. “Pretty long. Pretty long. That’s no Joe Biden, let me tell you.”
Desperate deflection and whining about Joe, as usual. :violin:
“It’s the very definition of corruption,” said Norm Eisen, who served as the top ethics lawyer in the Obama White House. “Using his official position and government resources to benefit himself.”
As everyone knows. The Grifter in Chief shouldn't have to hear it from anyone.
... The five-day trip is costing American taxpayers at least $9.7 million, not accounting for inflation, according to a HuffPost analysis, and raises Trump’s total golf-related travel and security costs to $52 million in just the first six months of his second term. His golf hobby — he insists on playing at his own courses — cost taxpayers $152 million over the four years of his first term....
 DOGE, where are you, DOGE?
