Animals

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Jr kills goes traveling to kill an endangered sheep and violates a few local customs along the way, but being a good trumper, he does allow the foriegn government to retroactively issue him a permit to kill any endangered animals he may have already killed.

Subject: Response from Senator Tillis

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about S. 2562, the Captive Primate Safety Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you are aware, on September 26, 2019, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced S. 2562, the Captive Primate Safety Act. If enacted, this bill would prohibit any foreign or interstate commerce involving monkeys, apes, and other primates for exotic pet trade.

As an animal lover, I adamantly believe in the humane treatment of all animals. At the same time, Congress has an obligation to strike the right balance between preserving and protecting American animals and natural resources without unduly creating economic hardship or burdensome red tape for the humans we represent. Please know that if this legislation comes before the full Senate, I will keep your views in mind....

Sincerely,

Thom Tillis
U.S. Senator (R-NC)
To: Senator Tillis
Subject: About your stupid email to me

What “economic hardship or burdensome red tape for the” detestable humans that traffic primates for the exotic pet trade are you so concerned with? Or, is it just that your staff is too stupid to think through the implications of the replies they’re sending out?

Also, exactly which “monkeys, apes, and other primates” are “American animals and natural resources”? Does your staff need remedial elementary school-level geography and biology?

We know from direct experience that some Trumpettes think criminality is peachy as long as the perp is one of the Impeached 45SHOLE Klan they worship.

I read last night that we have found a way to ignore the 101 year old migratory bird act. You see, as long as your stated intent wasn't to kill the bird everything is hunky dory.

Stupid old law, yeah trump, win, win, win

I am surprised the trump regime hasn't lifted the ban on DDT; it was blamed for a lot of bird death. Maybe they've not thought of it yet or maybe they've already lifted the ban and I missed it.

At first I thought this was a story about Mitch McConnell but turns out it's about a different giant tortoise. I doubt Mitch will retire in the same blaze of glory as this turtle did, though.

Weather service in FL issues warning about falling iguanas. The cold evidently makes them approach a state of rigor mortis until they warm up. I figure to come up with a yellow triangular sign that warns of this hazard; just don't know whether to depict the lizards in a legs up or legs down attitude as they fall.

It seems to vary.

I'd go with legs up, though, so that people don't think they're pouncing. One smacking, say, a child in the head will add urgency to the warning.

You could get rich designing oddball animal warning signs:

‘Life is crazy sometimes.’ Deer knocks man off his feet at NC McDonald’s, video shows

Think how many McDonald’s there are to sell to.
