How are the actions to reduce illegal crossings violating existing law?O Really wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 1:59 pmYes.
I would question any agency practice that gleefully violated existing law as a standard modus operandi.
Donny, are you ok?

Re: Donny, are you ok?
Here's a question for you, Supes - let's stipulate, for sake of discussion, that Trump has sound policies, policies that are in the best interest of citizens and the country as a whole, and that they are policies that most people could reasonably support. Yeah, I know, that's a long reach, but still.
If that is the case, why does he hire/appoint people in high ranking management positions that have no expertise or experience in the area they're supposed to be managing? Why does he find it necessary (desirable) to ignore/violate laws in the implementation of policies? And if the policies are so good, why must they be strong-armed around Congress?

You and I know that presidential appointments are determined based on loyalty and politics. It is not something new. A good example of this practice being bipartisan is the appointment of Mayor Pete as Transportation Secretary.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 2:16 pmHere's a question for you, Supes - let's stipulate, for sake of discussion, that Trump has sound policies, policies that are in the best interest of citizens and the country as a whole, and that they are policies that most people could reasonably support. Well, we'll ignore that most immigration violations aren't from some wannabe farm worker sneaking across the river. But of those who do sneak across the river, a lot of them are claiming a right to asylum under current US law. Maybe they are or aren't entitled to asylum, but clearly they are entitled, according to current law, to an acceptance of the claim and a ruling by a judge. That isn't happening in the way it's supposed to. Most crossing the border "illegally" aren't really illegal, just undocumented and attempting to do what US law says they should. There's more, but I'm guessing you'd take your usual "ends justify the means" approach anyway.supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 2:15 pmHow are the actions to reduce illegal crossings violating existing law?O Really wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 1:59 pmYes.

Maybe, but his Mayor work wasn't at the top of his career expertise. Not everybody graduates from Harvard and Oxford and gets a job with McKinsey. Dude had a lot of ability and when he went to Transportaion, he set out to make it run the best he could and for the most part did a good job. Trump's appointees, by and large, don't even try to run their agencies.supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 2:21 pmYou and I know that presidential appointments are determined based on loyalty and politics. Works for others, too, but you gotta admit nobody was previously as qualified in cosplay and posturing as ICE Barbie.

Do SoupySales' deflection - Sec of Transportation.
There's also low hanging fruit at HHS and Education, but I'll let someone else request those.
