It's not, as O Really has made clear several times, except that he is not so obsessed and hateful as to advocate the denial of equal rights for rednecks and he doesn't blame some imaginative men from thousands of years ago for his prejudices.

Just the other day at Ingle's I happened to notice an established and practicing redneck. He was leaving the parking lot in his old Ford truck that had at least two different colors on different doors and fenders and sounded as if he'd either removed his mufflers or else beat the hell out of them until they surrendered. The large (about 3' X 5' I would say) Rebel flag flapping in the breeze from a makeshift pole mounted in the truck bed was precious....I never considered denying him the right to be a dubmass but I did have a chuckle at his expense.

I bet that guy knows all the good fishing spots though.

This sounds like the vehicle I had to use for transportation when I was up in NJ, sans the rebel flag. This thing gets ~8 miles to the gallon, is lifted way high off the ground, has chrome flames in the grill, has those spot light things across the top. I was cruising in style. Only thing it was missing was some truck balls.

Thanks; I forgot to mention that the redneck truck in my story was, in fact, quite high off the ground and had big knobby tires. I figure it had to be pretty high for the moron to get under there and beat hell out of the mufflers. He could probably sit up while doing so, but then again I couldn't tell how tall this particular redneck was.....if he were a short, stubby redneck it could be done; if he were a lean and lanky redneck, he'd have to get his short, stubby wife or buddy to get up under there.

There is no difference, Mr.B. Prejudice is prejudice, and is usually irrational and baseless. But I do admit that I am prejudiced. I don't say things like, "I'm not prejudiced against rednecks - some of my best friends are rednecks." I don't say "I've got nothing against rednecks as people, I just don't like their lifestyle." Nope - I'm upfront and clear - I have no rational reason for it, I don't claim to stand on moral high ground, I just don't like them (sam I am )

Well, I have said they shouldn't be allowed to breed, but I have no practical way of enforcing it. I wouldn't keep them from getting married, though, or from making end-of-life choices for each other.

It would seem that at least two of the three mammals in the photo have, indeed, accomplished the reproductive act. To me, that's pretty funny. And significant.
