World Series

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

[Semis today:
Santa Cruz Aruba vs Barquisimeto Venezuela
Las Vegas Nevada vs Irmo South Carolina

Go Las Vegas for this game, then Go either Santa Cruz or Barquisimeto for the Championship!
My bad, those were quarterfinals.

Santa Cruz Aruba (pop 15,236) 3 vs Barquisimeto Venezuela 1 - small town kicking the world's ass
Las Vegas Nevada 5 vs Irmo South Carolina 3

Actual semis, Saturday, August 23, 2025
GO Santa Cruz Aruba > Taipei Chinese Taipei, then win it all!
Go Las Vegas Nevada > Fairfield Connecticut

Big scandal over offshore gambling on the games. Anyone want to bet? ;)

If you wonder why Lin Chin-Tse throws so hard, look at his legs. They’re a pitcher’s legs, built to drive his motion toward the plate and the ball past opponents.

Lai Min-Nan developed an array of arms that pushed him over the top. Lin, his ace, topped 82 mph when he arrived here, striking out 20 in 11 innings overall during the team's 5-0 run that included four shutouts.

“Try to catch (that) in that short distance,” team interpreter Phillip Chang said after the LLWS championship game. “Nobody wants to. Even the coach will say, ‘I’m not gonna do it.’"

Lin Chin-Tse has overpowered opposing hitters all tournament, striking out 16 in six innings and dotting the strike zone with a fastball that has reached 82 mph.

According to ESPN, Lin’s fastball seen from 46 feet away is the equivalent of a Little Leaguer facing 107 mph.
