I think the best cartoon character for trump is Wile E. Coyote (everything he touches blows up or turns out the opposite of what was intended). And I've got Pentagon Pete as Foghorn Leghorn....a vast reservoir of belligerent bullshit.Vrede too wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 7:30 amKINO reminds me of Pig-Pen, the Peanuts character who always had a cloud of dirt surrounding him.

Idk, with Jagoff, Friendly Fire Barbie and the others maybe Dementia Don is Pig-Pen. The only difference is that neither cartoons KINO nor DonOLD are lovable.

Re: Healthcare Issues
I just mentioned to Lady O yesterday that there have been a lot of fictional stereotyped exaggerated evil villains whose nefarious schemes weren't as evil as some of Trump's. Sometimes I think Trump's just trying to be evil for it's own sake; sometimes I think he couldn't be this awful if he tried, so he must be legit psychotic.

Oregon, Washington, California form health care alliance to protect vaccine access
The announcement comes after a week of turmoil at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over vaccines.

Otoh, there's Fascist DerSantis and the worst Surgeon General in the country, Joseph Ladapo:
Florida working to end vaccine mandates

Not that I agree, but I could follow an argument that the COVID vaccine is new, some are greater risk than others and maybe it doesn't have to be mandatory. But vaccines that have been in use for decades and have effectively eliminated some serious diseases? Total madness. Sure, maybe most parents will opt for their kids' vaccines anyway but enough might not to bring back the diseases, and nobody should want to mess with polio even if they're willing to take their chances with measles, pox, etc.

I agree. Many questions on the Covid vaccine and the way it was forced on folks made the opposition stronger. As for polio, etc; we have more extensive history of success. Yes but all those questions on the Covid vaccine were created out of whole cloth - politically based instead of scientifically based. And if Trump had taken proper credit for the excellent job he did in shepherding the covid vaccine through, there wouldn't be this problem.supesalemgr2 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:51 pmI agree. Florida does not have a COVID vaccine mandate for kids, and I'm not sure that any state does. It is the vaccines that have been around for decades that Dementia Don, KINO, Fascist DerSantis and likely other RW states are now upending.
It's not just families taking chances with their own children's lives. They're taking chances with the lives of the immunocompromised, those allergic to the vaccines, and those for whom the vaccine didn't take by sabotaging herd immunity. If families wish to be that reckless they can, just don't expect a free ride in OUR public schools.
