The homophobic thread :>

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

And don't forget "unclean women" with "blood coming out of her wherever" (I think that was in the bible) being kept separate.

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her whatever.”

Devil's advocate - The phrase is, "blood coming out of her/his ears". Might have been an inept recovery from flubbing at first and was never intended to mean hormonal?

Anyhow, it's not like there aren't plenty of other misogynist Trumpisms to cite.

If that were written in any venue, what, specifically does or would that mean?
I don't think there's any ducking of that question. It would appear that a reasonable interpretation would be that the author, who wasn't present at the time, writing what he believed the Lord said to Moses, clearly prohibited homosexual activity. But that's not the point of anybody's argument. That verse is not written as a standalone comment. It is part of a long list of behavioural rules. So if one believes that (a) those really are God's rules; and (b) 21st century people should follow rules for a society a few thousand years ago in a land far away; then s/he has to take it all or else but him/herself over God in determining what rules to follow and which ones to ignore.

So when people say they oppose marriage equality because the Bible decrees it as a sin, and quote Leviticus as a source, it is perfectly reasonable and logical - indeed essential -to see if they really believe and actually kill their kid when he "curseth" them; to see if they're writing their legislators to demand the death penalty for adultery and avoiding barbeque.

The just goes back to the ancient adage "bros before hoes". God is just laying down the laws of man by instructing us that bros should not lie to other bros, but women are fair game.

That's it. I quit. I'm no longer a Christian. You can have my barbeque when you pull it from my cold dead fingers.

There's a lot of things in life that have made me mad, but I can say with 100% certainty that a barbeque has never made me mad.

What if at the end of every rainbow sits not a leprechaun and his pot o' gold, but something else?

All good though cuz:
21 There are, however, some flying insects that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. 22 Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper. 23 But all other flying insects that have four legs you are to regard as unclean.

Scary thought: there really are people running around loose who think these verses should be a basis of US civil law. Why are they loose? Why isn't Themis considered a better source of law? Why is it considered bad form to ridicule somebody who takes one verse out of 19 and says that should be the basis of US law while saying the other 18 can be safely ignored? Is there a better definition of insanity or total loonity than a person who says, "I believe the writings in Leviticus come directly from God and are irrefutable. Having said that, I don't really think kids who curse their parents should be killed, and I really like me some BBQ, despite what I really really believe God said to Moses. "
