I am totally opposed to this idea of"taking over" Gaza. The U.S. a has habit of attempting nation building and it just doesn't work out, especially in an Arab country. We don't understand they do not think with western ideals. The Palestinians will not accept it.
Let's face it. The reason other Arab nations desire a two state solution is they don't want any part of the Palestinians. Never have in thousands of years. They would prefer those folks remain Israel's problem.
I am hopeful this idea goes nowhere.
Do you think it's a little concerning the president of the United States seemingly spouts off whatever nonsense pops into his head? The world's eyes are on him.
A personal anecdote: I know some folks that are avid trump supporters. During Obama's term they disparaged him for not respecting the office of the presidency. In comes Trump, tweeting all kinds of moronic things like a terminally online fourteen year old shit poster. Nothing.
The office of the presidency has been completely shit on. Other exhibits: Trump meme coins. Trump Bibles. Trump NFTs. Trump trading cards.
Look man, I'm not hating on conservatives. I think it's good to have some disagreements to keep things in check. I think one can be conservative and also firmly against Trump. But trump appears to be completely off the rails. I just don't understand the appeal of this guy.
Trump's style can be irritating. He probably does get ahead of skis on some issues. However, I fully support most of his goals and programs. The left has a difficult time understanding this. I think many conservatives will oppose this idea on Gaza.
Since we are asking each other questions. Do you support the idea of some on the left "fighting in the street" over the cost cutting?

Physical violence, no of course not. I disagreed when it happened Jan 6, and I disagree with it now.

"can be ... probably" The list above merits more than acting like he's a mischievous toddler.

True, it's appalling that you and Congress endorse his POTUS Elon-led criminality.
I think many conservatives will oppose this idea on Gaza.
That will be a first. So far it's been slobbering applause from the Cult. For example, the harebrained nominations.

It's a metaphor, Henny Penny. No doubt you're wringing your hands over it because RW media is playing it over and over and telling you to take it literally. Awww. Meanwhile, the leadership support for political violence is all on your team. Reality much?

It's crazy.

It's amazing how you normalize him without acknowledging he's certifiable because you support his "goals and programs"(well not his, Project 2025's).
He and they build nothing, they tear down and leave rubble (please prove me wrong by telling me about all the wonderful positive programs he's implemented or bills he's signed into law. My guess is you can't and if you answer it will be a sideways regurgitation of some campaign slogan or platitude).
As agents of chaos do.

Any garden variety Republican would espouse much of the same "goals and programs" as Trump and have for years. What we "on the left" don't understand is why you guys don't think you had anybody better. Somebody who would go along with most of Project 25 without being a legit dangerous embarrassment and perpetual liar.

DonOLD didn't say anything about "nation building". He wants to force the Palestinians out completely, militarily if necessary, and presumably replace them with resort developers. This would be ethnic cleansing on a nearly unprecedented scale. Doesn't that aspect bother you, too, SoupySales?
I wonder, Nuttyahoo's subsequent words about the idea were noncommittal. He and DonOLD had just met in private, surely an idea this radical was discussed. What game is being played here and who is playing it?
