But those Medicaid cuts won't start until after the mid term elections. Slickety, eh? I figure the low wits will still vote for the very people fucking them over. Wait and see.
Yeah, but it's probably not actual Medicaid recipients who would make a voting difference. It would be interesting to know what percentage are registered and actually vote. I think the biggest response will be from those who think if they can cut Medicaid after saying they wouldn't, then they'll probably cut Medicare more next. And then social security - things that will affect almost everybody in the country directly as well as indirectly with grandma, etc. But if it's gonna be a "when they came for the ....I did nothing because I'm not a ...." situation on that broad of an issue, then the country is truly and totally down the tubes.
I know next to nothing about Medicaid. What I hear Republicans whining about is that somehow there are a lot of people in the program that they say shouldn't be in it. Considering that Republicans have done nothing but lie over the past decade, I'm not convinced they're not lying about this as well. I just consider the fact that they fixed it so that these cuts won't take place until after the elections next November, they must know that what they've done is going to be badly received and they sneakily gave themselves some cover because they realize they need it. I truly believe that many of them think trump may attempt to remain in office after his term ends. So if that comes to pass, it will likely be the end of the US as it has always existed. At that point, Medicaid cuts won't matter.
