They have gotten a little better lately, except for a huge settlement over FCRA violations in background checks, but their historical baggage contains many FLSA overtime violations, NLRA labor violations, filthy food and re-furbished fish, and below average wages. They have been working on up-scaling some of their stores and being competitive in pay.

Sustainable Seafood Grocery Store Scorecard

My usuals are not ranked, Ingles and the Hooterville Co-op (of course). If I was buying seafood at all and didn't have the Co-op, I might switch to Food Lion.

I'm a bit hinky about buying seafood at grocers anymore. I damn near died a few years ago from some kind of exotic something-or-other I contracted from tainted flounder bought at Safeway. I'll catch my own.

Could be, but usually not when the appeal is to a niche market.

The gluten-free toaster waffles have been cheaper there for a long time. Why make a product that takes more effort and returns less profit? It may be that other gluten-free products are more expensive there, I haven't paid attention.
