I used to play, probably haven't picked up a club in almost ten years. I do get the orgasmic feeling one gets on the the one or two swings during a round when the ball goes exactly as you envisioned it that makes people come back for more but it never became an addiction for me unlike so many others.

I've only played miniature golf and that was decades ago. I don't recall any orgasms.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 12:19 pmI used to play, probably haven't picked up a club in almost ten years. With this Saudi deal I'm going to quit attending PGA matches and buying merch. Oh wait . . .

Re: Golf (yeah, golf)
I played golf long long ago for several years and was almost decent at it some of the time. But I didn't have the time/interest to get better instruction and play more often and the frustration of inconsistency was stronger than the pleasure. So I quit and stayed quit for over 10 years. Then a friend got me to play in some charitable fun day his company was sponsoring. I went out with no expectations, hope, or pressure - shot 47 on 9 holes and haven't played since.
Lady O was a good golfer when she played regularly. We both enjoy going to an occasional tournament - when we were in Naples we went to the Valspar most years. It's a very pleasant way to spend a nice day, walking the course, watching people who know what they're doing play, having a beer or so. I can't see what Saudis do turns that into a bad day for us or keeps us from going.

"Donald Trump Shanked A Shot On The Golf Course"
OMG! And this is actually worthy of coverage among a group of 10 lead articles in my Canada MSN? Another "The Spun" article that I mis-clicked on.
Goes to show, though, what a hold Trump has on the fascination of media - and apparently the public.

I've shanked with the best of them, but 50 feet from the pin like that? Nope.
Of course he wears the hat, doesn't want scalp burn as the sun can burn right through the comb over as well as melt all the product not to mention a stiff breeze blowing it off the side of his head.

I get wearing a hat, I would too, but a self-aggrandizing MAGA cap when he's just out with friends?

Great image!Donald Trump's nightmare golf shank caught on camera, and it's embarrassing
... He has also embraced reports listing him as the greatest golfer of any US president with a handicap of 2.8, per The Independent. The average golf handicap for men in 2022 was 14.1, per the United States Golf Association.
But many observers have questioned Trump's golfing prowess, with the ranking mocked by social media users.
Rick Reilly, a sportswriter, also cast doubt on the figure, writing in a book about Trump's golfing: "If Trump is a 2.8, Queen Elizabeth is a pole vaulter."
Blacks ride in back.Others who have played with Trump agree that he may not be quite as good as some have made out.
Former pro golfer Brad Faxon said Trump was "a legit 10," and former LPGA golfer Annika Sörenstam guessed he was "a 9 or 10," per Golf Digest.
Trump has also often been accused of serially cheating in golf.
"Trump doesn't just cheat at golf," Reilly wrote in his book about Trump's golf.
"He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: 'Pele.'"
Early this year, Trump claimed victory against "many fine golfers" in the Trump International Golf Club's Senior Championship, despite reportedly missing one tournament day.
According to The Daily Mail, Trump's competitors were surprised when they showed up to the course on Sunday only to find that the former president had claimed a five-stroke lead. According to the report, Trump claimed that an earlier round would count for his score in lieu of him having missed the start of the tournament.

The author of the posted article wrote it on Friday, and chronicled Phil's misery well. However, he also tended to blame LIV for Phil's non-competitiveness. Maybe he should go back and read the article following his that reported LIV golfer DeChambeau's spectacular win.

Opps. What are the odds? Ludvig Aberg's incredibly unlucky shot at the Scottish Open
... Åberg's ball landed almost directly atop Morikawa's, sending both balls pinballing in different directions, like billiard balls fired out of a cannon. Åberg ended up 81 feet from the pin, off the green, and had to settle for a bogey.
Fortunately, Morikawa was permitted to replace his ball at its previous location, and rolled in the putt for an unconventional and nerve-wracking birdie. Tough break for Åberg ...

Oh goody, they'll be a 'Canes family just like yours You'll have to start going to HomecomingDonald Trump’s granddaughter commits to Florida college for golf. What to know about Kai Trump
Kai Trump, 17, who goes to school and plays golf with Tiger Woods’ son Charlie, is the oldest grandchild of Donald Trump and a Floridian, just announced her commitment to play golf at a Florida university next year.
She’s currently a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County and will be staying close to home when she attends the University of Miami as a freshman in 2025, she announced in an Instagram post on Sunday....
Damn, she's blowing her chance to get far away from the Klan.
