So from my understanding the latest CR bill just passed by the Senate contains a policy rider pertaining to hemp derived THC, effectively ending the 2018 farm bill loophole.
For many years now, you've been able to by hemp derived THC products. Seltzers, edibles, THCA bud.
This bill effectively kills that entire industry. States like NC and SC will be affected.
Seems rather silly when that stuff's been on the market for a while now. Just legalize it already.

I was reading a story about this earlier on yahoo. According to that story, this was pushed by the marijuana industry itself.Whack9 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 1:32 pmSo from my understanding the latest CR bill just passed by the Senate contains a policy rider pertaining to hemp derived THC, effectively ending the 2018 farm bill loophole.

Yeah, that's what the story mentioned.....that the pot people didn't like it that the hemp people did not have to adhere to the same rules and regulations and taxes the pot people have to do. Apparently, the hemp people can juice up their hemp with THC to make the hemp more potent than the shit that killed Elvis.Vrede too wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:59 amUnlike RW myth it is very common for industry to request regulation. Some good intentions, but sounds like the legislation is extreme. It was pushed by some pot people, but also by anti-pot groups, sus. 1 year to take effect so there may be some fixes.

Ok, thanks. So let us ponder how anything trump does, or advocates, is extreme. Extreme ignorance, extreme pettiness, extreme ballroom, extreme incompetence.Vrede too wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 3:20 pmHemp industry plans next move after Trump signs THC banneoplacebo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 7:12 amYeah, that's what the story mentioned.....that the pot people didn't like it that the hemp people did not have to adhere to the same rules and regulations and taxes the pot people have to do. Re: It's the economy, stupid.
Their retail advertisers love that. Idiots.
Thanks MAGA.Trump cut tariffs on these five foods. It’s too late to stop price hikes.
... “Once prices increase, especially for a broad category like groceries, very rarely do they come down,” said David Ortega, a food economist and professor at Michigan State University. And retailers are hesitant to adjust prices too much with things up in the air. “There’s so much uncertainty with tariff announcements coming on and off.”
Fascists scratch each other's backs.... Trump’s agricultural tariff declaration in early November exempted coffee from the reciprocal taxes, but did not initially remove an additional 40 percent tariff on Brazilian imports, which he imposed this summer in retribution for the prosecution of former president Jair Bolsonaro....

The Gordon Gecko effect.
Elizabeth Warren says "private equity guts everything" from Red Lobster to hospitals. The impact of a $6-trillion sector
— from Red Lobster, Sears, Payless and ToysRUs to nursing homes, apartment complexes and prisons (1).
“A few wealthy investors buy the outfit, load it up with debt, strip out the assets and suck money out of it until it collapses,” she says.
“Then, after thousands upon thousands of workers have been laid off, after pensions get raided, after stores close, those private equity firms walk away with their pockets stuffed with cash.”
She says private equity takeovers build enormous wealth for financiers and dealmakers at the expense of the vast majority of Americans.

Meanwhile, JD Vance blames high housing and rent prices, as well as everything else the GQP refuses to address, on illegal immigrants taking houses that should rightfully go to Americans. Same with the high cost of health care; it's because illegal immigrants get free treatment at hospitals and that Americans have to pay for it. Basically, he's holding a never ending class in LAW.

Yep, I've thought for nearly a year now that these idiots control every aspect of US government and STILL all they do is lie and whine. Nothing is their fault even when it's plain to anyone that what they're doing is making things worse. Maybe next November, they will get an actual wakeup call. Unless they try to steal another election. And they're working on it......making various states furnish voter roll data, trying to alter district maps in a blatant effort to give them an advantage, and calling all of it some form of "election integrity." What a joke.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 19, 2025 9:38 amIt's Deflect, Divert and Blame.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:04 amMeanwhile, JD Vance blames high housing and rent prices, as well as everything else the GQP refuses to address, on illegal immigrants taking houses that should rightfully go to Americans. Illinois and a few other blue states are currently being sued for not turning over their voter rolls.

No idea if they've asked for TN roll data but if they did I'm sure Governor Lee would instruct all ninety some counties to comply. Hell, if trump asked, Lee would have every member of the Republican state legislature strip naked, stand on their head, and all squeeze their ass cheeks together while trump sells them bibles and watches. They'd do it and then brag about it.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:40 pmLoLneoplacebo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 19, 2025 1:01 pm
