It's the economy, stupid.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

It saddens me that 64% feel that high gas prices are not proper to prevent Iran from having a nuke. It is so shortsighted, but typical of the American public in 2026. The Islamic nuts in Iran would would use a nuke if they had one. Then high gas prices would be the least of our concerns.

Typical wingnut stupidity. That's what is really sad.

No one wants Iran to have a nuke. That goes without saying.

They were no closer to having one than they've been in the last 25 years, or if one was a big enough idiot to believe DonOld, we obliterated them a year ago.

The problem is is that the rank, stupid, oblivious AMETUERS in the administration from the top down, have zero clue to what they started, what they are doing and how to get out of it. IT IS NOT, NOR WAS EVER GOING TO BE VENEZUELA.
80 million people, Land area over two and a half times bigger than Texas. You think they're going to defeated with an air campaign?

Those are a couple of the multiple reasons why all administrators from Reagan until now haven't done what only DonOld is stupid and foolish enough to have done.

Why do you think that not one of our allies (except Israel who led DonOld around by his nose) have stepped up to the plate?

THEY HAVEN'T GOT A FUCKING CLUE as to how to get out of this mess and it shows every day. In the meantime, we get fleeced on high gas prices, it'll probably be over100 billion dollars in consumer costs before the end of the year for gas and another 100 billion plus for war costs. Just wait until your grocery bill starts skyrocketing. "The people's president" my ass. This is directly on him and we are no safer today than we were on February 27, probably less so.

Time will tell if your rant is correct. I do agree Trump needs to get this over ASAP. His mouth about how successful is overselling and it reduces the patience to deliver.

Hilarious. I remember supes bragging that he'd be glad to pay high gas prices to get rid of Obama or something equally nutty. Maybe nobody's thought of this, especially in the trump regime since none of them do anything but kiss trump's ass.....North Korea HAS nuclear weapons. THEY SAY they can hit the US. I figure they get most or all of their oil and other stuff from China. If China isn't getting its normal oil supply, that means North Korea isn't either. Looks to me like what trump has done is invite a real nuclear threat and instead focusing on a threat that wasn't there. Hell, last year he said the Iran nuclear threat had been "obliterated." And then back in February the Israeli tail wags the American dog once again, and the aftereffects take years to manifest. Looks like you just can't trust the white man.

Some truth to that.

What tipped the scales and made the Japanese attack Pearl Harbour was cutting off their oil.

Time has already proven me correct. All you have to do is turn off Fox News and pay attention.

TV news says more people blame Dementia Don for inflation than ever blamed Joltin' Joe or even Carter.

Thanks, MAGA.

I do think North Korea is crazier than Iran by at least one order of magnitude. And Kim is liable to go haywire before long if he can't get his steaks or other things he's used to having. Plus he's just as juvenile and immature as trump. And those missiles don't need any oil in order to launch them.

Yeah, that's sort of what made me think of the Norch Korea scenario.

They're going tits up because of "sudden and sustained" fuel costs - increases directly and irrefutably and personally caused by Trump, and they still say "thanks Trump" in a non sarcastic manner? WTF is wrong with these people?

They lost an airline and admin* efforts to rescue it were just Lucy feinting with the ball, but they still want invites to Mar-a-Lardo parties and to play on DonOLD courses.

That's a conventional answer, but one must still ask "why?" It's not like they have even the slightest reason to think he's going to do anything for them.

They're blaming Biden.

His administration blocked the Jet Blue merge.

Easy peasy.

What would have happened if Spirit had merged with Sky Blue will never be known. The bottom line is management of Spirit could not develop and implement a business model that could be successful in today's business climate.

I think it's more of a case of a business promoting cheap plane tickets that undercut their competitors' prices by a significant amount. They probably figured they'd make up the difference in quantity of tickets sold. Once fuel rose above a certain price level, that model proved impossible.

I don't think the sudden demise of a thirty year old company is evidence of a failure to implement a successful business model. I think trump put them out of business and will never have a clue that he did so.
