Re: Olympics
There are many kinds of beasts
"When you’re about to win an Olympic medal but your massive d*ck gets in the way while the whole world watches in slow motion."
“21-year-old French pole-vaulter Anthony Ammirati may have lost out on Olympic Gold, but I see big things in his future.”
“oh he brought that baguette to the games.”
“He’s going to stroll out of this Olympics with more ladies’ phone numbers than medals!”
“The one time in your life you wish your pen15 was smaller."

After looking for it, I find the US womens basketball team is 2-0 and plays also 2-0 Germany today. Wonder if I would have had to go look for the scores/standings if Caitlin had been on the team, or if they would have gotten the Simone/Sha'Carrie treatment. Just askin'

Re: Olympics
Good question. Is race the reason or is it just Caitlin's well-deserved celebrity based on skill? Anyhow, the game started 20 minutes ago and is being shown on USA.O Really wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 11:23 amAfter looking for it, I find the US womens basketball team is 2-0 and plays also 2-0 Germany today. If she had the nickname "Butch" and brought her girlfriend to the matches, probably nobody would have thought much about it.

Re: Olympics
One of the basketball players after last olympics commented on why they weren't the stars the soccer team was, saying "we're not little white girls with blonde ponytails..." and I suppose there could be some truth to that, although stars like Rapinoe don't exactly fit that mold.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 11:32 amGood question. Re: Olympics
The soccer stars have been White even if otherwise non-stereotypical, though I think Trinity Rodman will break that mold. Rapinoe, etc did have to fight for equal pay, but that was after the national team was so much better than the men for so many years. Otoh, male basketball superstars are mostly Black. Maybe it's just Black women that get dissed?O Really wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 3:19 pmOne of the basketball players after last olympics commented on why they weren't the stars the soccer team was, saying "we're not little white girls with blonde ponytails..." and I suppose there could be some truth to that, although stars like Rapinoe don't exactly fit that mold.
