Single hurricane thread :D

Hurricane Norma is about to hit Baja, at least the 2nd storm to do so this season.

Once and future hurricane but currently Tropical Storm Talim will travel the length of Japan.

Hurricane Jose, which has been around forever, is gonna mess with New England.

Then, there's Tropical Storm Lee.

Funny how many places have never seen a hurricane and that there are or were 6 Canadian 'Hurricanes' sports teams.

That depends on who Trump appoints as head of NOAA.

All that blowing while the SE gets fucked.

Hurricane Jose may do another 360!

Still uncertain what Tropical Storm Lee will do, though reichwingers are already planning memorial statues.

Now we've got Tropical Storm Maria. Gonna be a major hurricane when it smashes into the already devastated Leeward Islands, may make a more direct hit on Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti than Irma did, may then set its sights on NC.

Found:
"How do you solve a problem like Maria?!?!"
I've barely treaded the water out of my living room from Irma!!! Maria comin' in for the sloppy seconds.
Should have waited to clear out the water until Thanksgiving.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs until November 30, we've only just passed the 9/10 historic peak.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs until November 30,
...And in 2005, continued into January 2006.

2005's Hurricane Rita reached Category 5 before making landfall in Louisiana as a Category 3. This was a month after Katrina, and it topped the hurriedly-repaired Katrina-damaged levees at New Orleans.

Hurricane Rita formed on September 18th.

Argh! I accidentally closed WU, and now I can't get it back.
Their blog is the best place to get minute by minute updates from the serious weather nerds.

Those islands really don't need another hit. All the people living in corrugated tin shacks- how the hell did they survive?
With tourism and crops wiped out, they have nothing.

And now the East coast is looking good for Maria's landfall, though at this point, anything is possible.

Bastard. He should have been more aggressive earlier in working to reverse AGW.

Crap, Cat 4 the length of Puerto Rico Wednesday. 3.5M people live there, plus there are thousands of Irma evacuees from the Leeward Islands.

If only you were joking with such quips.
The petition to the Senate reads:

"NASA must remain an independent scientific agency, and its critical Earth science missions must continue. Reject Trump's appointment of anti-science ideologue Rep. Jim Bridenstine for NASA head and insist on a scientist or another qualified individual for the position."

I have seen so many variations of this, not to mention those who believe prayer will render the storm impotent. This post is seriously out there.
The Scripture says that it rains on the just and the unjust. When you study the things of GOD, you realize that he is a get even GOD. Yes he loves his creation but he does not love all people. He hates the wicked and laughs at them for he knows their end. A number of these islands are a haven for satanic groups and pedophile organizations. Some of the Islands are actually owned by the mega rich which are close friends with the Obomination, the Clintons and others. One is actually known as pedophile Island. The are no laws upheld in these areas that will prosecute you for child rape, etc.The indigenous people of these islands are aware of this and many approve for it brings money to their business.
I in no way claim to know what the LORD is doing but he does have his ways.

Maria is now a Cat 5.
There is nowhere to run on those islands.

To be fair, the Keys are pretty nasty. ;)

Hurricane Jose could go anywhere, including FL!

I saw one graphic showing Jose and Maria blobbing together.
Got to get a life- too much geeking over the weather.

Tropical Storm Jose now aiming at NJ & DelMarVa. I still remember the rain and flooding from Hurricane Camille. 153 died in Virginia from a hurricane that made landfall in Waveland, Mississippi!

Hurricane Maria may graze the same area.

But it's expected to be downgraded to a tropical depression long before it gets there.

Good, that means less storm surge and wind, but not necessarily less rain and flooding.
