Looks to me like if there's any "deep state" it's the people on the Court. No accountability, no appeals, no recourse to even address things they decide other than legislative action by Congress, and even then the Court could say the legislation is unconstitutional. There really is no check or balance on The Supremes.

It's very troubling. Until recently there integrity was never questioned although their decisions were.

One of the saddest comments I've read lately.
When the highest guardians of the law are corrupt, the country is truly in deep shit. Trump and trumpers have made it very difficult to separate the "bad apple" from the barrel since their largely successful campaign to weaken confidence in institutions as a whole. So every instance of individual misbehaviour becomes another indictment on the whole.

A Canadian Supreme Court justice facing a judicial conduct review has stepped down from his post, the Canadian Justice Council said.

Justice Russel Brown allegedly had a drunken altercation at an Arizona resort, which involved harassment of a female guest in January.

Mr Brown, who has denied the allegations, has been on leave since February.

The retirement ends the CJC's probe into his alleged misconduct.
