Usually everybody standing close to a scandal gets splattered, no matter their degree of guilt. Everywhere I worked up until maybe late 80's, workplace romances were pretty much a norm. Then came the harassment suits and before long most people were afraid to say "pretty sweater, Jennifer" without adding "no offence." Of course, back then alcohol at lunch wasn't taboo and company holiday parties sometimes got people fired but were certainly not dull staid affairs.

They must be going nuts in Normal, Illinois, making it decidedly abnormal. The Redbirds have only played for the National Championship once before, in 2014. They suffered a heartbreaking 27–29 loss vs. perennial champ North Dakota State. Fitting that Illinois State would shock the FCS by upsetting North Dakota State 29-28 in the 2nd round.

Similar records, low spread, exciting game until the very end. So, it must come down to the intangibles. Bryan Harsin was imported to Auburn from Boise St in 2021. This occasioned much grumbling from billie and teasing from us about "Blufield". He lasted a season and a half and received a massive buyout when he was fired.

Hawai'i won the game 35-31. Bryan Harsin is the OC for Cal. Predictable. :---P Congrats, Jasmine.

Central Michigan "Chippewas" wearing uniforms that look a lot like old 'Skins uniforms. That stylized "C" on the side would look a lot like the feathered face from a little distance. Colors the same. Helmet with the triple stripe. Ut oh. I wonder if they do the chant, too. If the school were anywhere other than out in the wilds of Michigan, the torches and pitchforks would have been out by now. I think I'll root for them today just for the unis.

UNC has decided to go full in on its football circus. They have hired another clown as OC. Bobby Petrino will take charge of the offense. The next question is will he bring his motorcycle and girl friend?
