Or, they could hire some of the March Madness basketball people who actually know how to put on a tournament. Or even somebody from DII. Or, they could just keep on stepping on their own dicks with every "change."
Basketball has so many tournaments, each serve a purpose for a game that can be played 2 to 4 times a week.

Football is all but over, for me, after the conference game.

Maybe this 12 team thing will get me interested. The 2 game thing was total bullshit and the 4 game playoff wasn't much better.

I never understood why Auburn didn't at least try to fire this anti-vaxxer for cause. His recklessness could have cost us even the easy non-conference games and was in no way supportive of the team, but nooooo, we had to endure almost 2 full seasons of him running off a legitimate QB in exchange for a nice enough QB who couldn't pass to his own team, or run without fumbling.

Phew. 12-point favorite Buffalo won with a TD with 1:26 remaining.

Notre Dame quarterback Drew Pyne to transfer ahead of bowl game

Drew Pyne appears to be leaving Notre Dame.

The Irish quarterback announced on Twitter on Friday that he is entering the transfer portal. Pyne has three years of eligibility left, and will not play with Notre Dame in its bowl game....

Pyne took over as Notre Dame’s starting quarterback for their third game of the season, following losses to Ohio State and Marshall. He went 8-2 at the helm, and threw for 2,021 yards with 22 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing nearly 65% of his passes. He went 4-1 against ranked teams, too, losing only to USC.

It’s unclear where Pyne will look to transfer. The Connecticut native was a four-star Rivals.com recruit out of high school and the seventh-best quarterback in his class. He had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Miami and others before landing in South Bend.

It’s unclear who will play quarterback for Notre Dame in their bowl game. Pyne replaced Tyler Buchner, who underwent season-ending surgery in September. The next player on the depth chart is freshman Steve Angeli, who hasn’t thrown a pass this season.
I'm not sure how long the transfer portal lasts, but it's a bit rude to leave. Maybe he's figuring that a Bowl injury would wreck his transfer prospects. Notre Dame is CFB Selection Committee ranked #21, so it isn't going to get an elite Bowl, anyhow.

I'll bet that Freeze and Cadillac are looking hard at snaring him. Good luck.

CFB Selection Committee

1. Georgia 12-0, Next vs LSU(14)
2. Michigan 12-0, up 1, Next vs PUR
3. TCU 12-0, up 1, Next vs KSU(10)
4. USC 11-1, up 2, Next vs UTAH(11)
5. Ohio State 11-1, down3

Ohio State has a shot because it doesn't play in a Championship game.
If USC loses Ohio State is in.
If Georgia or TCU loses Ohio State may be in since its sole loss was to #2 Michigan.
If Michigan loses, idk. Which counts for more - that Michigan lost to an unranked opponent or that it won the head-to-head?

Hoping for 2 or more losses among the top 4 are:
6. Alabama 10-2 up1
7. Tennessee 10-2 up3
8. Penn State 10-2 up3
9. Clemson 10-2 down1
... Please, please no bammer in the playoffs
Great, you jinxed the nation. Thanks a lot.

Crap, Mormons smote the heathens.

Ohio State is in and can't get knocked out since it doesn't play again.
How far does USC fall? Does it have a shot at getting back in if a #1-#3 flops? I doubt it after getting beaten so badly.

Will one of the games affect Alabama's strength of schedule and make it drop? I doubt it.

Sigh, I hate Alabama and I hate #s 1-3. I guess I'll still root for losses tomorrow, regardless, then root for Ohio State, who I dislike less than the others. If 2 teams miraculously fall tomorrow, I don't hate Tennessee, either.

GO LSU, Purdue and KSU!

Of those left, I'll root for Michigan and/or Ohio State. Either one if fine, or if they call off the "playoffs" for lack of credibility, that's fine with me too.

Agreed, I'm looking forward to the 12-team Playoff in 2024. IMO most of the top 17 or so could win it all if they play their best games, certainly the top 12.

TV talking heads: Unless something really crazy happens even if any of #s 1-3 lose they will not be replaced by 2-loss Bama or any of the other 2-loss teams.

Okay, the only Playoff drama today is whether any of the undefeated #s 1-3 lose and drop below 1-loss OH St in the seeding.

Blocked lsu field goal with live ball left on the field while the whole lsu team heads for the bench.
Apparently they weren't concerned about the uga guy hovering over the ball like he was waiting for them to leave.

I've turned it off after hearing that tcu lost. I just can't bring myself to be for Georgia.

That was the 1st score of the game, but you knew that LSU would get trounced after that.

Later - LSU pass defended, instead of hitting the ground it bounces off the prone LSU player's helmet, tipped once, GA INT. GA 22 yard touchdown pass on the next play. Arrgghh! 7-21, 10-35 at the half.

It's hard to imagine anyone beating GA, but LSU did show that it's possible to score 30 on it.

I seriously thought lsu was going to beat uga up until 21 - 7. Two, maybe all 3, were given to them by some extronary calls. Auburn was called twice for getting too close to a Punt returner, uga slammed into the returner before he caught the ball and they didn't slow down to review it.

But after leaving the live ball on the field and that crazy helmet bouncing pass uga didn't need the refs, or did they - I was watching Andor (not bad).

Will bammer get in?
