Kenan will be rocking and likely much partying will be done win or lose. Too bad it's not a bit warmer sunny day - they'd be living up to their "Southern Side of Heaven" monicker fershure.

Big Ten bans Michigan's Jim Harbaugh from sideline

The Big Ten has suspended Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh for the remainder of the regular season as the league disciplines the program under its sportsmanship policy amid the ongoing NCAA investigation into the school's in-person sign-stealing ring.

The decision was announced Friday afternoon as the third-ranked Wolverines (9-0) head to No. 10 Penn State (8-1) for a critical road game Saturday.

Michigan was found to be in violation of the Big Ten's sportsmanship policy for "conducting an impermissible, in-person scouting operation over multiple years, resulting in an unfair competitive advantage that compromised the integrity of competition," the conference said in a statement....

Harbaugh's suspension bans him only from the sideline on game day, as he's allowed to coach the team the remainder of the week.
:bs: No coaching during the week, either. Will he be able to coach from the booth or remotely on Saturdays?

I am impressed by the significant and relatively rapid action, but it's insufficient. Michigan should also be banned from the Big Ten Championship game and the Big Ten should petition the NCAA to ban Michigan from the Playoffs and Bowls. 10 Penn State and 1 Ohio State on Nov 25 are huge games, but Maryland on Nov 18 probably won't be a challenge :(
His status for Michigan's game against Penn State could come down to a court ruling. In a statement, Michigan president Santa Ono said the school seeks to get a court order "preventing this disciplinary action from taking effect."
Accountability is dead.
... Stalions, a Naval Academy graduate who became a Marine Corps captain before joining Michigan's staff in 2022, resigned last Friday after initially being suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. Sources told ESPN that Stalions refused to attend a meeting with Michigan officials or to comply with the NCAA investigation, possibly on the advice of counsel. In a statement released to The Athletic, Stalions' attorney, Brad Beckworth, said Stalions had no knowledge of Harbaugh or other Michigan staff members telling anyone to violate rules regarding off-campus scouting, nor were they aware of any such activities.
Honor is dead.
... Manuel said in a statement that the athletic department would cooperate fully with the NCAA and remained "committed to the highest standards of ethics and integrity for all members of our community." Harbaugh, in a statement, said he and his staff also would cooperate, and that he did "not have any knowledge or information regarding the University of Michigan football program illegally stealing signals, nor have I directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment."
:bs: Stalions' "knowledge" was undeniable and he was given coaching influence beyond his job description.
... The off-campus signal-stealing investigation is the second ongoing NCAA probe involving Michigan, which in January was notified of alleged recruiting violations during the COVID-19 dead period. In August, Michigan self-imposed a three-game suspension for Harbaugh to begin the 2023 season, as well as one-game suspensions for offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and Grant Newsome. The first NCAA investigation of Michigan is expected to be resolved in 2024.

Harbaugh, who faces charges around failing to cooperate with NCAA investigators, could be charged as a repeat violator under head-coach responsibility, a Level I charge.
He runs a RW xtian cheating enterprise.

8 PM? Seriously? No, no, no, that's just not right. What - do they think it's high school Friday Night lights? No, the game is supposed to start at 1 PM. Gives time before to get there, do some tailgaiting on a beautiful fall day, go to the game, yell yourself hoarse, drink yourself loopy, but not so much that you can't enjoy the rest of the day which is going to dinner, then out partying, including all the way down Franklin St. Damn, 8 PM games - no wonder they get no respect.

:D Yeah, that's why :P

None of the real networks wanted the game ;) Then, ACC Network had to make room for important teams like Virginia Tech, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Syracuse . . . all unranked :P

Maybe they figured that it would be much warmer in the evening down here than Boston and Syracuse. Haha, joke's on them, not by that much.

8:00 pm
Chapel Hill 49 °F
Boston 38 °F
Syracuse 34 °F

(Sorta) Seriously, the experience of college football shouldn't be controlled by TV schedules. Yeah, I know, farting into the wind. But on TV a game is just another TV show with ads, yammering commentators, and (usually) indoors. In-person games, particularly in a place like Chapel Hill, creates memories for a lifetime. TV is a passive activity no matter if you yell. A live game is an experience. Watch a video, go to a concert. Which do you remember? Five times a year, students, alums, and other fans have the opportunity for truly memorable events. An 8PM game, at 46 degrees and probably a cold wind in your face just doesn't cut it. Duke-Carolina deserves better, ranking or lack thereof be damned.

Thanks. I don't get SEC Network, but maybe I'll click on some articles.
It't funny. I never heard of the guy until maybe a couple of months ago and then "Paul Finebaum says..." articles kept popping up everywhere. Canadian MSN, Google, Yahoo, Flipboard. I felt like I was being stalked. No idea what I did to point the algorithm gods to him, but whatever.
Maybe you would appreciate him more if you knew his feelings about DaBooo

New Mexico State > @Western Kentucky (-4.5) 38-29

CBSSN :x
UAB (-2.5) > @Navy. Ugh, 6-31.

4:00 PM

SECN
Auburn (5-4) > @Arkansas (3-6, -2.0 :headscratch: ). WDE, get a Bowl!

ESPN+ :x
East Carolina > @Florida Atlantic (-7.0). 22-7

5:30 PM PAC12 :x
@Loyal 12 Oregon State (-21.0) > Stanford. Top 10 dreams.
I won't count a win in my tally. 62-17 :o Might get there with the 10 Penn State and likely 9 Ole Miss losses

7:00 PM

ESPN
(holding nose) 9 Ole Miss > @2 Georgia (-11.0)
Knock GA out of the Playoffs! 17-52 :puke-left: , but an Ole Miss loss is always a good thing

Losers: 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 18
Just 4 1-loss teams left
6 Oregon
7 Texas
8 Alabama
11 Louisville, moving on up!
Unbeaten Huskies move into the playoffs after the Ohio St-Michigan game. The rest hope that some other team, including the Huskies, flops.
The Ohio St-Michigan winner still has to survive likely Iowa in the Big Ten Champ game.
Likely Louisville might beat Florida State in the ACC Champ game.
WA & OR will likely meet again in the PAC 12 Champ game.
Then, the 1-loss teams have their own permutations.
We'll see.

But we're so incredibly excited.
Finding a great coach can be tough and take years. We'll see how it goes with Cadillac as the temp coach

'“I am incredibly disappointed that I won’t get to lead the Auburn football program and these players into the future,” Harsin said. “I poured my heart and soul into this program and team. We stood together in the face of considerable challenges and outside noise.

“Through my entire time at Auburn we did things the right way, which is not always the easy way. I am very proud of the resolve shown by everyone in our facility and incredibly grateful for those at Auburn who stood by me and my family. I am certain that this group of players will do great things. I will miss you guys tremendously but will always be there for you and do anything I can to help moving forward. Thank you for believing in me.”

Harsin was hired in December 2020 to help revitalize a program that had grown stale under former coach Gus Malzahn. Then-athletics director Allen Greene signed Harsin to a six-year contract, pulling him away from his alma mater, Boise State, where he had gone 69-19 as head coach."
Hey Auburn, hold my beer.

I wasn’t aware that there was more than one stratosphere.
