I’ll be watching my 1st tomorrow. We play basketball and football tomorrow.

RB Cody Schrader runs for 128 yards as No. 9 Missouri def. No. 7 Ohio State in Cotton Bowl

... The Buckeyes were already without starting quarterback Kyle McCord, who left the program earlier this month to transfer to Syracuse. Devin Brown, who took over as the starter, left the game in the middle of the second quarter with a high left ankle sprain. They finished with only 203 total yards.

... Kienholz was finished 6 of 17 for 86 yards and lost a fumble while being sacked with 3:13 left....

The Buckeyes never reached the red zone on their 11 possessions (eight punts).
3rd string true freshman Lincoln Kienholz could have used some help. This was only his 3rd appearance, coming in late in games where OSU had already routed its opponents. He was 4/5 in those two games, hardly Bowl prepped.
Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. sits out Cotton Bowl loss

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., a Heisman Trophy finalist and the Biletnikoff Award winner, did not play in Friday night's 14-3 loss to Missouri in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic in Arlington, Texas....

The junior from Philadelphia is expected to enter the NFL draft, although a formal announcement has not been made. ESPN's Mel Kiper projects Harrison as the No. 2 prospect for the 2024 draft, behind USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, who played 13 NFL seasons and made eight Pro Bowls, Harrison Jr. starred for Ohio State during the past three seasons.

He earned unanimous first-team All-America honors in 2022 and 2023, combining for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns on 144 receptions. Harrison was the only non-quarterback invited to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony and finished fourth in the voting....

The short-handed Buckeyes amassed just 12 first downs and 203 total yards in the loss.
His absence was felt. The score was 3-0 OSU after 3 quarters, ultimately almost as many total punts (16) as points (17) in the game. :puke-left: OSU will want to forget this season end, losing the Big Ten Championship and a Playoff spot and then this also-ran Bowl snoozer.

Wonder why Maryland doesn't have to wear the "traitor" label tagged onto other teams who quit their conferences. Statute of bashing limitations?

-0-? You're still pissed off about the Colts and I still lament the loss of the Senators, especially to Texass.

It's been a decade, but I did not feel good about the Terp move at the time. I'm thinking that I'll quit calling the Chargers and Raiders "Traitors" next year. We'll see.

I'll be calling out the Pac-12 traitors, but maybe not too long since I like some of the teams. Also, it'll be confusing and redundant since it's all of them except WSU and OSU. Maybe a little extra venom for USC and UCLA since they were the first rats to jump ship.

If the MWC gets absorbed by the Pac-12 will SDSU, etc be traitors?

Well it was a fun question, but as I think about it, I wouldn't necessarily consider everybody in colleges who changes conferences as a traitor. Programs sometimes outgrow their conference, or I guess in some cases, can't keep up. Sometimes there really are greener pastures. No idea what if anything the Terps have gotten out of the Big Ten, but I'm assuming money. I don't recall reading about any championships since they won 9 in the ACC. Is it better to be a low tier program in a high tier conference? Big fish, little fish?

Pros, on the other hand, are always traitors when they leave a place/region that has been faithful/rabid supporters through thick and thin for decades.

Good point, it's not like UMD moved to the Midwest.

It had been since 2001 that the football Terps won the ACC and 1985 before that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryland_ ... mpionships
I think they'd already achieved "low tier" well before leaving :(

The Terrapins men's basketball were a little better, winning the ACC in 2009–10, 2001–02, 1994–95, etc, and they won the Big Ten in the COVID-ravaged 2019–20 season.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_M ... ll_seasons

The move has been A LOT better for women's basketball -
Never winning the ACC since 1987–88 and 1988–89;
Winning the Big Ten 6 times in 9 years! Damn, those are Pat Summit numbers.

63-3, "largest margin of victory ever in a bowl game"!!! #5 was being way generous to FSU.
Georgia scored on nine of 12 drives and gained 673 total yards against the short-handed Seminoles, who were without more than two dozen players because of opt-outs and transfers, including five starters in their defensive front seven, their top two running backs and top three receivers.

... Because of transfers, opt-outs and injuries, the Seminoles were without players who were responsible for 97% of their passing yards, 88% of their rushing yards and 84% of their receptions this season....
The system is broken, not sure if it can be fixed.

Now, we'll have to endure the Bulldog whining that they belonged in the Playoffs, though :( :puke-left:
2-1 today  , 5-6 for the week :|
