Orlovsky was and is an idiot.
If Orlovsky really feels "bamboozled," it's on him (and anyone else who felt there was a competition). "Pole position" was an oft-used description by Tomlin for Wilson this offseason. Tomlin never made it sound as if Fields was truly a candidate for the starting job.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Orlov ... rst_stint)
... Orlovsky made his first career NFL start on October 12, 2008, in a 12–10 Lions loss against the Minnesota Vikings. He completed 12 of 21 passes for 150 yards, with one touchdown and no turnovers. However, early in the first quarter when he lined up in shotgun formation, he inadvertently ran out of the back of his own end zone for a safety, in what turned out to be the margin of victory."When they started blowing the whistle, I was like, 'Did we false start, or were they offsides or something?'" Orlovsky said. "And I looked, and I was just like, 'You're an idiot'". The game ended up being the closest the Lions would come to a victory in their historic 0-16 season (Orlovsky started 7), as many of their other games including on Thanksgiving ended up being blowouts....
Opps.

I’m rooting for Justin Fields to find success. I think he can still be a viable starting QB. I kinda wish the Raiders signed him instead of Gardiner Minshew.

I've watched Justin closely since his debut. He's got extraordinary physical talent but unfortunately he really hasn't progressed as an NFL quarterback as hoped. He just doesn't read defenses and react like the top tier guys. Watched him a little in preseason, same.

By all accounts he's a great guy and teammate though.

So, after all these year I had never bothered to watch Hard Knocks.

Of course the Bears are featured this year and I'm watching.

Newsflash: It's a little cheesy but overall pretty good and if you're an NFL fan worth watching.

But he can learn to read defenses, right? Maybe he just needs to be in the right system. He did great at Ohio State.

I hope so, but more guys than not cannot make the jump from college to the pros, it's really a different game starting with speed. The best guy on most college teams is an average NFL guy. Most college QBs have a read or two to make usually to their fastest guy. In the NFL they have a read progression all over the field and often times have to come back to their one or two. The other thing I noticed about him is when he gets flushed from the pocket he's more often than not unable to keep his eyes downfield and throw guys open. That's something Russell Wilson excels at but he's lost some of his escapability.

Brittany laments "haters" because of the trashing she got for "liking" a Trump post. Brings to mind the question, why do people think they can post stuff supporting a candidate or espousing a political view and not get any social criticism? Sure, their speech is protected from legal consequences, but not societal. Would she have the same "don't hate" tolerance from a person who "liked" the Pedophiles R Us page?

I'm thinking after an "oh fuck!" that Taylor has already called Travis and told him to make sure Mahomes' wife doesn't drag them into this.
Will they be sharing a box this season?

She was disliked even by KC fans before this MAGA reveal, I think it was for putting on similarly pretentious airs. 'Childhood issues', 'Jealousy' - Seriously? MAGA sucks for well-defined reasons and most of America, tens of millions of us, think so. Get over yourself.
Politics verboten.

I couldn't do that, but good for them if they can pull it off.

In Hooterville I basically had two friend groups, one red, one blue (although they did intermix at times).

My Republican friends were not wingnuts but we avoided political talk and we were all much happier for it.

It's funny, when Facebook first started taking off my friend group was all in on political talk but that slowly and surely died off (me included). Guess everyone realized they wouldn't have any friends left.

It's different now that Republicans are MAGAts. I would have something to talk about with Never Trumpers.

Over the years, I've had numerous friends/acquaintances/colleagues that had different political views from me, but I think it became more difficult with the teabaggers, and then pretty much impossible with the MAGA people. You can be my friend even if you're an anti-abortion gun nut war monger because those are all issues that are complex and multi-faceted and on which reasonable people can disagree.

But if you're going to support a guy for President who is not only personally character-free, but who openly advocates the flaunting of the foundations of our government and proposes hare-brained plans like "mass deportation" and "jail for journalists", then we won't have enough in common to even have lunch much less form a friendship.

Right, but because he's not MAGA or because MAGA hurts his brand?

May not be what TayTay wanted, either. I'm sure the Swifties are discussing it on fan sites and accounts.

Yeah, this raises a minor issue to major attention level. In another instance of "Whatever Trump touches..." he drags Patrick into it. I dunno if Patrick is MAGA, but he'd done a good job of keeping away from public politics. This might be hard to ignore.

Be curious how the overall fan base reacts much less the Swifties.

My greater hope is this will be a catalyst for strong Tay Tay for Harris endorsement (wonder if she'll re-evaluate her friendship if this blows up?).

Hard to say. Taylor is known to be loyal to her friends, but she hasn'tBec stayed basically scandal-free for close to 20 years by standing too close to somebody else's mess. Because of the Travis-Patrick team relationship, it's almost like a family conflict. Taylor can't dump Brittany without interfering with Travis-Patrick. I think she'll mostly keep quiet about it, make no public issue, and then eventually endorse Harris.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a public squabble, more like a quiet ghosting. The tell will be if they're sitting in the same luxury suite.
