I'm blocked by Axios non-registration. What would the broadcast viewership have been?
Dunno, I'm blocked too.

Just thought they were healthy numbers.

Thanks.
... The early afternoon matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers posted 24.1 million viewers, and the Baltimore Ravens’ win over the Houston Texans came in at 24.3 million (both figures include over-the-air broadcasts in the teams’ local markets). The Netflix audience peaked at 27 million viewers during Beyoncé’s halftime performance at the Ravens-Texans game.
 Queen Bey wins, as usual.
... The two games on Wednesday brought in about 5 million fewer viewers than did last year’s Christmas afternoon games, which drew 29.48 million and 29.02 million viewers on CBS and Fox. (A primetime Monday Night Football game on ABC and ESPN last year delivered 27.61 million viewers.) They are, however, at the higher end of regular-season contests this year, trailing the three Thanksgiving games (which averaged better than 33 million viewers), the season opener on Sept. 5 (29.2 million across all platforms) and several showcase games on CBS and Fox in the late Sunday afternoon window.

... Amazon’s Prime Video is averaging 13.34 million viewers for its Thursday Night Football games this season (up 12 percent from a year ago), and Peacock pulled in 14 million viewers for a game in the opening week of the season.
Broadcast wins, as usual.
Wednesday’s games were the first in a three-year deal between the NFL and Netflix to stream games on Christmas....

Go Seahawks 8-7 (-3.5) > @Bears 4-11
Sorry, gotta catch up to the Rams. Watch out for bad acting. :problem:
6-3 on 3 first half FGs at 11:43 in the 4th. If the Seahawks somehow stumble into the Playoffs I don't see them going very far. :(
6-3 Final  At least the Chicago D showed up and Bears bettors won.

2-0 this week.

Bears-Seahawks 'Thursday Night Football' finale sets season record for fewest points

If "Thursday Night Football" felt unusually low-scoring, it was. Seattle's 6-3 victory was the lowest-scoring game of the 2024 NFL season to this point. It was the first time both teams in a game failed to score more than 10 points in an NFL game this season.

The prior record for lowest-scoring game of the season was the Jacksonville Jaguars' 10-6 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 14....
Ouch, GoCubsGo and Lady O.
... The Seahawks were involved in the most recent 6-3 game in NFL history: a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 23, 2011.
Double ouch, Lady O.
Last year's lowest scoring game was the Minnesota Vikings' 3-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Dec. 10.
Ouch, Jasmine.

Ftr, the Ravens are second to the Lions (493) with 483 points scored this season. This is an average of 30 per game. :P

If UNC wanted an ex-NFL geezer, why couldn't they have picked Pete instead. Having heard myself post that, I realize my objection to Belichick is probably more that I just don't like Belichick and less about his age, etc.

If Pete wanted back into a college job there are probably dozens he could pick from without having to interview and compete like with the NFL. Maybe UNC would be his selection, maybe not.

Ah, sounds like Pete is openly lobbying in order to pressure the Bears.

Is this Josh Allen's MVP season?

... He is the favorite to win the award (-225, per ESPN BET) with two games to go in the regular season, starting Sunday vs. the New York Jets (1 p.m. EST, CBS). His campaign, however, is saddled with fierce competition.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's performance vs. the Houston Texans on Christmas Day improved his odds to +180. Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is behind them at +1800 and Cincinnati Bengals' QB Joe Burrow may be listed at +10000 odds but has a compelling statistical argument for the award, especially if the Bengals sneak into the playoffs.

Entering Sunday of Week 18 in 2023, Lamar Jackson was a -190 favorite to win MVP, lesser odds than Allen has now....
I can't say who "should" win, but GoJoshGo. Lamar already has two on his mantle and maybe more to come. Plus, this is the year the Ravens finally win a Playoff game . . . and then the SB.

Packers vs. Vikings: Breaking down epic NFC North matchup

Earlier this week, Kevin O'Connell suggested that Sunday's game between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers would be a matchup between two "really good teams." O'Connell, the Vikings' coach, was being modest.
:D
More accurately, the contest will be a clash between two of the NFL's best teams.

This is only the second NFC North/Central game since the 1970 NFL merger when two opponents have had at least 11 wins. And it serves as a reminder that either the Packers or Vikings will be one the most qualified third-place teams ever to advance to the playoffs.

The Vikings (13-2) and Packers (11-4) have combined for 24 wins, the second most in the modern history of the franchises. The Vikings remain in position to unseat the Detroit Lions (13-2) for the division title and the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC by winning their final two regular-season games, including their finale against the Lions.
I like the Vikings, but GoLions & SocialistsGo!
... The NFL noticed and flexed the game into a national broadcast window last week with a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff ...
Cool.
