Magic Johnson steps into spotlight as a new owner of the Commanders

Though it's ironic that no NFL player could cobble together some sort of ownership group.

Almost no NFL players have had comparable post-playing business success.

The 30 Richest Athletes in the World

Only Roger Staubach makes the list at #11, $600 million (real estate, etc).
Magic is #9, also $600 million.
Michael Jordan, of course, is #1, $2.2 Billion.

Where's Tom Brady?
Tom Brady Net Worth $300 Million
That should have placed him on the Top 30 list, but maybe different methodologies were used for estimates.
Btw, Gisele Bundchen Net Worth $400 Million and she's still working.

Gisele won. :D

Yay, Snyder's gone, new owners with better attitude, hopefully better team. Now get a better name. Maybe something that would energize fans and reflect the glory days of the once-proud franchise. Oh I know, how about "Washington Redskins"?

It would better honor DC's history and traditions by calling them the "Washington Niggers" :problem: :shh: . Shouldn't you be concerning yourself with the San Diego team's name? Oh wait . . . :P Anyhow, please keep us updated on how your *******s campaign is going.

Funny. Yeah the Chargers went the same way as the Bawlmore Colts, sneaking out like a thief in the night. To quote Don Henley:
'Out on the road today
I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice inside my head said
“Don't look back, you can never look back”

Ya gotta admit, though, the 80's was a fun time to be a 'Skins fan. Winning records, personalities, Hogettes...

True, but that was almost entirely unrelated to the team name. We would have been just as thrilled by the 'DC Comics' or, more ominously, the 'Capital Punishment'.

Speaking of Hogdettes, how about they name the team "Pigskins"? It's a football name, they'd still be called "Skins, and it mostly fits with the song.

Hail to the Pigskins
Hail Victory
Hogs on a rampage
Fight for old DC

6 possible new names for the Washington Commanders if they change it (again), according to Twitter

Washington Football Team
Red Wolves  How long since any irl wolves have been in DC?
Redtails :headscratch: I get the historical reference, but they were out of Tuskegee, Alabama.
Hogs  Tons of cool mascot and merch options.
Sentinels
Hilarious but no. It’s from The Replacements!
Pigskins :D Nice, but seems unlikely.

They could be the "Swamp Men" or at least name their stadium "The Swamp" like UF.

Apt for the former marshland, but forever corrupted by Dolt .45's whining. I would not want the eternal reminder.

Another hero, 60 Minutes tonight has a segment on Black history. A small part of it is Jerry Rice - 208 TDs over 20 years, still an NFL record. Rice's father, Joe, was a brick mason and Jerry and his brothers often worked with him. Jerry would catch bricks tossed from the ground while on top of a 20 foot scaffold. Aha! Footballs were easy after that.

The last 25 years are like that Dallas season that was a bad dream.

Fresh start, with link to the good times. Nothing wrong with that. The last 25 were indeed pretty much a bad dream for the long-ago proud franchise formerly known as "Skins."

:bs: :bs: :bs: Coward! It's the intentionally hateful and misogynist message that must be retracted and apologized for, not the "word choice".
