There are human artifacts from what is now Russia site dated to 45,000 BC which would make the inhabitants the earliest known ancestors of Europeans today. Deep ingrained fear of the (really really) big bad wolf got into the DNA. And now they're endangered everywhere.

Well, the story says the head measures 41.5cm which they say is 16" and that a modern wolf entire torso (I assume from front legs to ass) is from 66cm to 86cm which is about 24" and 35" respectively. That seems to be in line with the size of any wolves I ever saw. So that makes this the King Hell wolf in my book.
