Yet he is harmless to anything other than a forum like this.
"Harmless" I guess is a matter of degree. I thought Useless was interesting when he first joined, and I made an effort to interact with him on topics he seemed to be interested in. I talked about his restored cars, biking, traveling (which he always talked about but never went), etc. But he was so damned literal and argumentative that every interchange went right down the drain. I once mentioned that we were going to be in his area on our trip north and he started arguing about whether where we were (about 40 mile east of him) could be called "in his area". It's not like I was really going to visit - just having a conversation including him. I pointed out that California is a big state and if you life in SoCal and get within 40 miles of his town, that counts for "in area". Then he started arguing about whether it was actually 40 miles. I think I pretty much gave up on him then.
So if his online personal traits carry over to his real life, he might not be so harmless.
Useless may have albeit temporarily slithered away in shame. Looks like he posted some nonsensical stuff after his suspension for a day or two and hasn't been heard from in four days.

more than he deserves abuse,
but granted, that is just me.
What GoCubsGo says.
We mostly stopped abusing him. Was he given a new timeout by LNF?
Well, I sort of abused him even up to the time he was banished. I'm not a quitter.
I meant that banishing Useless ended the abuse on BRD, but collectively shunning him for a few months did, too
Come to think of it, we still abuse him in this thread and sometimes others. Oh well

"In all my travels as the facts unravel I've found this to be true".......in general, engaging in abuse of any kind often becomes an end in itself. Whether it's drugs, alcohol, money, love, animals.....once you're into a serious abuse gig you tend to stay with it.

We have a Useless addiction?
Uh. I sort of think it's more an aversion than an addiction. I feel there's just too man;y facets to it to name it an addiction. After all, you've got the animal torture apparatus, the stomped by the neighbor incident, a war over a wood storage bin, a tortured stock and financial adice miasma, a legless camp oven.....nobody could be addicted to ALL of that shit. I'll go with aversion. Or even an allergy.
