If I recall, Amy had gained weight largely due to some medical condition, and had tried Wegovy but stopped due to severe side effects, including feeling constantly nauseous and unable to "lift my head off the pillow".
I know not everybody can lose a substantial amount of weight on the ol' "diet and exercise" plan, but I'm not going to be surprised if this stuff turns out to be more dangerous than they think.

I know there's probably a long litany of "possible" side effects like all those listed on every ad for every medicine on TV, but I'm thinking more of intentional effects that maybe don't turn out so well. It seems that even with "normal" eating, weight comes back quickly if you get off the treatment. And whatever it does to suppress appetite certainly doesn't guarantee that what you do eat is healthy stuff. And muscle loss seems to be an issue along with "Ozempic face" changes. And maybe its not the product itself, maybe it's just the way people use it and maybe get carried away with the thrill of no longer being overweight. I'm pretty sure, though, if I weighed 350 pounds and felt hopeless about it, I'd probably try one or another of the products, but overweight anything 50 pounds or less, I wouldn't.

Never being able to quit would scare me. We'll see. The pills are going as low as $25/month with insurance, $50/month without it. Leaving aside the health benefits that's getting down to where the saving in groceries pays for the med.
