I haven't seen much about it in the news lately, but there was vicious con reaction to Francis his first couple of years as Pope. He did a lot of bureaucratic housecleaning, expressed some tolerance for gays and took more liberal positions on other issues.

:confusion-scratchheadblue: :?:
I'm not opining one way or the other. As you can easily look up:
Pope Francis did do a lot of bureaucratic housecleaning;
Pope Francis did express some tolerance for gays;
Pope Francis did take more liberal positions on other issues than his predecessors;
Con Catholics did strongly react to these things and question whether he's a "real" Catholic, just like our fundies question whether liberal Christian churches are "real" Christians.
Did you really not know any of this?
Whatever, if you still dispute whether any of these are facts you are welcome to post contrary evidence and/or gripe to banni. Good luck.

One can debate whether John Bolton is also a liar, but it is a fact that he wrote the book:
Here's a pirated copy of John Bolton's book if anyone wants it. Fuck giving John Bolton money:

Desperation:
Trump Campaign Busted For Deceptively Manipulating Biden Photos In New Ad
... The image of Biden sitting on the floor “alone” and “hiding” was actually from a football-watching party in Iowa. The background was manipulated to make it look as if Biden were sitting on the floor of an empty room:...About that new Trump ad alleging that Biden is “Alone. Hiding. Diminished.”
The clip at the four second mark is edited to make it look like he is sitting on the floor of his basement alone.
But it’s from an Iowa event last December. The room was full. See below:
...Biden was photographed touching his forehead while conducting a town hall at an Iowa nature preserve in September 2019.
The Trump campaign edited out his mic and the trees to portray him as stuck in his Delaware basement...though kept his sunglasses. https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/05/politics ... index.html
The new Trump ad accidentally shows just how few photos/how little b-roll Biden has produced since March. An image meant to make him look defeated/old is of him praying in church!

AP FACT CHECK: Trump skews record on Biden-Harris, economy
President Donald Trump greeted the Democratic presidential ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris this past week with a litany of distortion and falsehoods, raging against cases of voting fraud where they didn't exist and declining to quash conspiracy theories about Harris’ eligibility for office.
Trump also misrepresented Biden's position on taxes, again minimized the coronavirus threat and exaggerated his own record on the economy.
A look at some of the past week's rhetoric and the facts: ...

AP FACT CHECK: Trump's flawed justification for postal cuts
President Donald Trump is misrepresenting the U.S. Postal Service's financial problems as his postmaster general defends cuts that have slowed mail delivery in advance of the November election.
Speaking before the start of the Democratic National Convention, Trump raged anew about the perils of mail-in voting and argued that the post office needed an overhaul, blaming Amazon deliveries for its operating in the red. Package deliveries actually have been the bright spot for the post office, with double-digit increases in revenue.
Trump also gave his trade deal with China false credit for generating the purchases of U.S. goods that Beijing agreed to make. Chinese imports of U.S. products are actually running at less than half of what Trump negotiated, and it’s even worse for American farmers who sell to China.
A look at some of his claims Monday: ...

Sigh.Trump Is Far from the First Presidential Liar, But He’s Definitely the Worst
… One of the most interesting things about Donald Trump is that while he is in many obvious ways a dunce, he is also in others a genius. And nowhere is that genius on better display than in his instinctive ability to exploit not only the news media’s desperate search for shiny objects in the form of phony conflicts he constantly creates, but also in their inability to rein in, or even report accurately, on his lies. Trump lies so frequently and with such a lack of self-consciousness that it is impossible for anyone to keep up.
Interesting comparisons.… Trump successfully defined the terms of his relationship as president immediately after winning the election. As I explain in the book, “In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide,” he tweeted, “I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.” This was nonsense. When the returns from the popular vote were tallied, Clinton had beaten Trump by nearly three million votes. His 46 percent share of the overall vote was lower even than that of recent losers, including Gerald Ford (1976), Al Gore (2000), John Kerry (2004), and Mitt Romney (2012).
America was screwed from the get-go.And yet this lie quickly became conventional wisdom in the pro-Trump media. A July 2017 Morning Consult/Politico poll found that 47 percent of Republicans believed that Trump had won the popular vote, just 5 percent fewer than those who knew the truth. Trump’s lie proved to be a brilliant political stroke, as it addressed three problems simultaneously. First, for those who believed whatever he said, it eliminated any uncertainty about the legitimacy of his victory. Second, it advanced his false argument that undocumented immigrants were undermining America and doing so at the behest of media elites and Democrats. And third, it provided the foundation for future lies.
… The combination of Trump’s lies about the coronavirus and his lawless response to “Black Lives Matter” protests have put tens of thousands of Americans at risk, and give every impression of threatening the future viability of the republic itself. The time to call him on his lies, and to refuse to pass them along unrebuked, is long past. For honest reporters covering the president, if you are not part of the solution, you are, alas, part of the problem.

CNN Fact-Checker Makes Blistering Conclusion About Donald Trump’s Dishonesty
Lee Moran·Reporter, HuffPost
Tue, October 20, 2020, 2:58 AM EDT·1 min read
CNN’s fact-checking reporter Daniel Dale showed how President Donald Trump’s “dishonesty is getting worse” in the final stretch of the 2020 election.
Dale noted in an article for the CNN website Monday that Trump made “at least 66 separate false and misleading claims” over the weekend at public events and rallies in Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada.
The president also repeated some of those 66 lies on multiple occasions, said Dale.
“For fact-checkers, the period from Friday through Sunday was one of the most challenging of Trump’s entire presidency,” he lamented.
Trump’s dozens of untruths featured the coronavirus pandemic, Democratic rival Joe Biden, the economy and his own record, said Dale.
And while the president’s penchant for lying is well known (The Washington Post in July reported that Trump had told a whopping 20,000 falsehoods during his time in office), Dale said Trump’s truth-defying weekend was “an egregious stretch for the President, no matter how much he was talking.”
Read Dale’s full analysis here.

What kind of creep, especially one with children and grandchildren, doesn't give a shit about his integrity? PP, you have experience with this. Please educate us.AP FACT CHECK: Trump and his oh-so-familiar falsehoods
President Donald Trump says Mexico is paying for the wall (it isn’t), health care choice for veterans came from him (it didn’t) and his tax cut stands as the biggest in American history (nowhere close).
These are among his touchstones — the falsehoods that span his presidency — and he's giving them another go in the final days of his relentless campaigning.
He's got fresher false material, too, claiming “incredible” numbers in the pandemic response despite record infections, rising deaths and a statement from his chief of staff Sunday that the government cannot bring the coronavirus under control. He warned darkly of voting fraud in the Nov. 3 election without offering evidence that malfeasance is in play.
In weekend rallies, Trump also portrayed Democratic rival Joe Biden as the helmsman of a Marxist party who lined his own pockets with $3.5 million via Moscow. This didn't happen....
