The 1964 Civil Rights Act vote was more regional than partisan. In fact, Southern Democrats were MORE likely to vote FOR the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than Southern Republicans, and Northern Democrats were MORE likely to vote for it than Northern Republicans.

In fact, the ideological heirs of the racist southern Whites have been GOP for 50+ years, but it's common to find deniers of this and sometimes they foolishly cite the CRA vote.
