Version 0.3 - Beta

• Caching RSS feeds to prevent us from getting banned and improve load time.
• Limit stories to stories within the last day (fresher content).
• Added the BBC news feed.
• Reduce unnecessary feed data being downloaded to the client to save user bandwidth and improve load time.
• Randomized the news feeds. (Maybe I did that in v0.2.... who's counting.)

• "View all news" opens a new window showing all current stories.

I now have a large, mostly blank grey section below the blue banner. My AdBlock is not saying that there are blocked items.

No one else has commented on the news scroll, not sure what they think. It doesn't work for me. I like looking at a page of headlines and picking from it. I just don't have the patience for a scroll and find myself not lingering. I'm not saying that it bothers me except for the reduced but ongoing bouncing, just that it's not doing anything for me, either.

Any others want to weigh in?

Ok, I think I see at what resolution it was looking funky at -- I made some adjustments, hopefully it'll clear up for you now.

Much better after I closed and reopened Firefox. The grey box is still there and still contains the items I listed that used to be in the blue banner (except that "Search" is now up in the blue), but it's now a thin strip rather than a big empty box. All is good, thanks.

I don't have a "View all news" option.

I saw a headline that interested me, but could not get my cursor to it in time. It took forever for it to come back around so I could click. Idk what the solution is. Possibilities:

A "View all news" option;
A slower scroll;
A way to back arrow the feed;
Fewer articles in the feed;
Do nothing because the other options are too much hassle or have unforeseen consequences.

Not a biggie. I'm rarely lingering long enough to use the feed at all.

On the right side of the front page (kind of small font), there is a "View All News" tab that is a drop down.

What do you mean by "the front page"? In the blue banner I don't have a "View All News" tab. My AdBlockPlus says that it's not blocking anything here.

On the blue banner about 2/3 of the way down under the search feature I have a tab.

Your screen may be low enough resolution that it's hiding the view all.

I'll put it on my todo list -- I also want to freeze the changing of stories if a mouse hovers over a story.

Plenty of idea's and lack of time. :-)

Aha! When I zoom out "View all news" appears. I've got my solution now for the rare case when this happens again.

I shrank the header quite a bit so people don't have to scroll so much to get to the content now.

Also added more coronavirus stats -- though where I'm getting the data hasn't been the most reliable about staying online.
