“It seems very likely that all of these encrypted pagers were modified prior to Hezbollah purchasing them, which implies a very successful Mossad operation.” he said, referring to Israel’s foreign intelligence agency....
I don't know the details, but apparently Massad was able to tinker with the batteries before they were shipped. Why Hezbollah would buy pagers from somebody that would let Massad at them, I don't know. I didn't even know they still made pagers.

Gaza health workers say mostly women and children were killed by an Israeli strike on a school in northern Gaza.
... Another 30 were wounded in the strike on the school in the Zeitoun area of Gaza City, the ministry said in a statement. Most of the casualties were women and children, it said. It wasn’t immediately clear which hospital the dead and injured were taken to.

Ex-CIA chief: Pager blasts in Lebanon are ‘terrorism’
Former CIA director Leon Panetta in a new interview labeled last week’s deadly pager explosions in Lebanon a form of “terrorism.”
“I don’t think there’s any question that it’s a form of terrorism,” Panetta said on “CBS News Sunday morning.”
“This is going right into the supply chain,” he added. “And when you have terror going into the supply chain, it makes people ask the question, what the hell is next.”...
