Trump vows to help oust GOP senator after criticism: 'Get any candidate ready'

 What a crybaby idiot! Lisa Murkowski won't be up for election until 2022, she'll be 67 and may not even run, PINO likely won't be POTUS and may not even still be alive, and Alaskans won't care whether she kissed PINO ass way back in 2020.

NC needs another carpetbagger, we all fondly remember the Liddy Dole years....

To be fair, the state did not elect Madison Cawthorn, our NC11 did. I THINK she would struggle to win the primary and would almost certainly lose the general. Plus, she would need to move to NC immediately and I don't see Eric going for that. This feels like another Trump Klan scam.

It's creepy that Eric married an Ivanka clone.

Why would she have to move immediately? I believe cheney established the policy that you don't have to live where you claim to live.

I think there's a 90 day residency stipulation. Cheney can live anywhere for 90 days between heart transplants. That evil bastard will never die. He could run anywhere and list his heart as a former resident.

I don't think that she'll win here, regardless, but it would give her the best shot.

There's not much comparison between the Cheneys in rural, low pop, red WY and the Trumps in semi-urban, high pop, purple NC.

There's a stronger comparison to carpetbagger Elizabeth Dole in 2002, but "Liddy" did switch her residence back here, and she was far more accomplished than Lara. Even so, she got trounced by a Dem as an incumbent in 2008.

Carpetbagger and got away with it. Switched residence to her mother's house. Gimme a break.
In late December 2001, Dole shifted her official residency from the Doles' condominium in the Watergate complex to her mother's home in Salisbury to seek election to the U.S. Senate.[18][19] The seat was made available by the retirement of Republican Jesse Helms. Although Dole had not lived regularly in North Carolina since 1959 and had been a resident of the Washington area for most of the time since the mid-1960s, the state and national Republican establishment quickly cleared the field for her. She handily won the Republican primary with 80 percent of the vote over a lesser-known candidate, Dr. Ada Fisher. In the November general election, she defeated her Democratic opponent Erskine Bowles, a former chief of staff to former President Bill Clinton, by an eight-point margin.
Anyone really think the Eric Trump family is going to move to NC.

Capitol riot leads former Republican to run for Senate, but NC law will make it tough

A lifelong Republican’s decision to change party affiliations following the Capitol riot has evolved into a run for U.S. Senate.

Kimrey Rhinehardt, 46, of Chatham County, has begun the process of getting her name added to the 2022 ballot as an independent candidate.

“Arriving at this moment has been a very incremental process,” Rhinehardt said. “It all started with the posting on my social media that I’m the newest unaffiliated voter in North Carolina.”

Rhinehardt said she didn’t expect much to come from that tweet.

But as time went on, she garnered praise from followers, media attention and subsequent support from those reading her story. From there she decided that it wasn’t too much of a stretch to run for the seat of U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, a Republican who employed Rhinehardt on Capitol Hill while he served in Congress and who is not seeking reelection....

Running as an unaffiliated candidate comes with a different playbook.

Before Rhinehardt finds her name on the ballot she must collect 84,000 signatures from supporters in North Carolina.

And doing that in a pandemic comes with unique challenges....
Even if she was great - impossible for someone that stayed a Repug throughout the 45SHOLE years - an independent bid can only help the Repugs. I won't be signing her petition, and if she qualifies I won't vote for her unless the Dem really screws up. Otherwise, I appreciate the anti-Trumpette voice.

I've never seen an episode or whatever it is the clan does.

What is the attraction of these people?

Mark McCloskey, gun-toting St. Louis lawyer, considering Senate bid

Mark McCloskey — the gun-toting St. Louis attorney who drew headlines last year for brandishing an assault rifle at Black Lives Matter protesters — says he’s looking at running for Missouri’s open Senate seat.

“I can confirm that it’s a consideration, yes,” McCloskey said in a brief interview on Tuesday evening.

McCloskey, a wealthy personal-injury lawyer, said that he had no timeline for making a decision about whether to enter the race for the seat from which Republican Sen. Roy Blunt is retiring....

He's telling her that he's got her covered and is going to shoot her in the ass if she makes another move. It's why she has her hand on her hip; she don't know what to do. I'd never vote for such an asshole.
