2024 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

"Too dumb to learn, too mean to live."
Didn't that original line end with "Bye Bye"?
We can only hope.
Actually I stole that from something Hunter Thompson wrote in a story he wrote about the divorce trial of Roxanne Pulitzer from her husband. He was describing the general decadence and depravity of the millionaire social set in Palm Beach FL.

One would think that would be clear to everyone but the hardest core trumpers.
They should all wear shirts that say "Too dumb to learn, too mean to live."

Sheesh, put a fence between the goat and the kids like normal people do.

Devil's advocate: For better or worse it is common practice in the West to kill dogs that harass, let alone kill and eat, livestock. Noem is not abnormal on this matter.

She probably paid big bucks for a hunting dog, not a livestock killer. Could be there were ongoing issues -0-? , but no one keeps a chicken killer in a rural area unless willing to build an imprisoning fence.

And re homing it wasn't a possibility?

It's absolutely amazing that she's stupid enough to write about it.

-0-? IF IF IF the dog was untrainable re-homing would have been unfair to dog and new owners, if a new home could even be found for a proven chicken slayer.

Good point, but my post was a double entendre referencing both SD norms AND intelligence ;)
I suspect Noem has more fans than Loomer. I wouldn't engrave her political epitaph yet, but one might read something like: Here lies Kristi Noem ... with Cricket :o :D

It's been said that the story of Mittens making his dog ride in the luggage carrier (with no lasting harm done) went a long way toward getting him defeated. There's so much wrong with the Noem story that it can't just be ignored. First, it was a 14-month old puppy, not a grown maverick/vicious dog. It should never have been put in that situation with the expectations she had, and if she had known anything about training, she would have known that. She was failing as a trainer so it was the puppy's fault. And she said she "hated" the puppy - all because it frustrated her. I don't know that the pup was a confirmed chicken-killer - this seemed to be all in one instance - but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of homes even in South Dakota that don't have chickens.

Oh no, not Catturd too!
Kristi Noem's VP Odds Crash After Dog Killing Revelation

... Polymarket, a platform where users can place "yes" or "no" bets on the likelihood of world events, is currently giving Noem a 3 percent chance of potentially being the next Republican vice president.

On Friday, Noem was given a 5 percent chance of being selected as Trump's next running mate, down from 10 percent the previous day. On March 25, Polymarket was listing Noem as the second favorite with 9 percent chance, behind South Carolina Senator Tim Scott on 22 percent.

Noem, New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance have long been considered front-runners for the role of Trump's next running mate. The latest Polymarket odds show Scott in the lead with a 22 percent chance among named candidates, followed by Stefanik on 9 percent, with Vance and Trump's former GOP primary rival Nikki Haley both given 6 percent.
Worse than Nikki Heat? Ouch.
... "I hated that dog," Noem writes in No Going Back: The Truth on What's Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward, adding Cricket was "untrainable" and "dangerous to anyone she came in contact with."
Dangerous to other people is relevant new info and might have had bearing on re-homing options.
... Sarah Matthews, another Trump aide turned critic, added: "When I saw tweets about Kristi Noem murdering her puppy, I thought to myself, 'Damn, one of the other VP contenders' teams found some oppo,' until I realized SHE wrote about it in HER book.

"I'm not sure why anyone would brag about this unless they're sick and twisted."

In an X post defending her actions, Noem wrote: "We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years.
   Not helping your cause, Kristi.
... Noem told Fox News in February that she and Trump have "never had that conservation" about her potentially being his 2024 running mate.
And never will now? This is your Howard Dean scream moment . . . with fatalities :problem:
