Are the "Capitol Police" real cops, I ask again. Apparently so. Sort of. They are a police force, reporting to Congress (not the president), and they do go to police academies, etc. But here's the fun part: they have ONE JOB, which is to protect the legislators and the Capitol property, including some surrounding areas. They don't have to chase criminals. They don't have to do traffic stuff. They don't have to enforce any drug stuff or harass homeless people. But they do have to do their ONE JOB, which is to protect the people and property of the Capitol, and clearly they failed miserably. Given all the internet chatter, every one of those guys should have been placed at the barricades and doors armed to the teeth and in riot gear. They should have all just stood there like Beefeaters until or unless somebody got to close, at which point they should have all taken the approach "This is MY house, muhfuckas, cross that line and you're dead meat." Even if nobody had any real expectation that the mob really would try to breach, there was enough yammer that precautions should have been taken. But noooooo. They were unprepared, undermanned, underarmed, and undisciplined. They yielded, then ran. Even the cowardly "Elite Republican Guard" in Iraq put up more of a fight before they ran. In the once instance where somebody wuz skeered enough to shoot Air Force Karen, the terrorists backed off at first and the alledged cop stopped firing and basically ran. The chief is gone, along with the Sergeants at Arms. Clean out the place - if they want to play Barney, they've got no place in DC.

No one in the administration would speak to him. After hours he finally accepted authorization from some top army guy. Both knew it wasn't right.

And remember, trump told them at the rally that he would be there, then Rudy gave his "Lets have trial by combat” pep talk and off they went - likely with the taxpayer funded super sound system cranking out songs by artists who have demanded that he not play anything by them at his events.

In a day or two he'll have thousands if pardons to sign. See my Governor Blanton early removal. He had a stack of unsigned when he was escorted out.

This comes as the FBI and DC Police released images of people wanted on federal charges for violently storming the US Capitol. They are trying to track down 36 people after 68 were already arrested after violent clashes with police as the Trump-supporting mob broke into the Capitol, forcing members of Congress to evacuate and seek shelter in undisclosed locations. Four rioters died and 56 officers were injured in the ensuing chaos. One officer remains in hospital after being beaten and tased by the mob.

Charges include inciting a riot and weapons violations. Rioters scaled the Capitol building, defaced statues, committed countless acts of vandalism and fought with police.

The suspects include Holocaust deniers, White supremacists, and conspiracy theorists....

An unnamed man was fired from his job at a Maryland marketing firm after wearing his company badge while storming the Capitol....

"We still have a significant amount of work ahead of us to identify and hold each and every one of the violent mob accountable for their violent actions," Metropolitan Police Department chief Robert Contee said.

Maybe the FBI will slow walk IDs so that former PINO can't pardon the traitors. Joe's team will then preside over all federal actions, and almost all Repugs will stfu about it.

“Drama Queen” Hawley Lies About Protest Outside Virginia Home (with video)

... Hawley’s statement is a gross exaggeration of what took place and almost 100% false. Someone with the group of about 15 people shot video from the time they gathered in a strip shopping center parking lot to the time they walked away from his house....

There is nothing about the group of 15 people to suggest that they have any connection to “Antifa.” By all appearances they just look to be folks who aren’t too keen on having their votes thrown in the trash by a relevancy-seeking senator with presidential aspirations.

They assembled in front of Hawley’s house and for about 20 minutes used bullhorns to amplify their chants of displeasure about Hawley’s effort to award Donald Trump another term as president. His assertion that they “vandalized” his property is probably based on the fact they wrote “Trump Lost” in chalk on the sidewalk in front of the house. Not exactly on a par with spray painting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s garage door and pouring red paint on her driveway.

“They tried to pound open our door” just never happened. What did happen is one of the protestors left a copy of the Constitution at the front door of the residence, which seems like a kind gesture since Hawley’s Electoral College stunt shows that he’s never read it....

She retweeted Georgia lawyer Lin Wood. In December, she wrote, “COVID IS A F****** JOKE!” In September, she wrote, “Trump 2020 landslide! Let freedom ring!”

Another woman wrote on Twitter, “Serious question: Has the government started a war against it’s own people?” Babbitt responded on December 20, “We are not their ppl… they are owned-bought, paid for, enslaved… you can’t sell your soul to devil without a price. They chose, so have we. Dark to light! Let freedom ring and god bless America! God knows, god sees and he is incoming! Nothing can stop what is happening.” ...

I'm probably okay with that. The Capitol Police apparently did not seek help from the DC PD, FBI, US Marshals, INS, CBP, other feds and other area PDs that are all trained in and routinely practice civilian law enforcement. Use of the military should only be as an absolute last resort.
