It's damn helpful of the idiot traitors to do so much posing for the evidence that will be used against them, often recording and posting the video and stills themselves. I have no problem with lawbreaking for a cause in principle, but I'll bet that few are prepared for the severe consequences of the particular tactics and site they chose. Good.
DC riot updates: Capitol rioters are being identified, arrested; Virginia lawmaker wants slain officer to lie in state

...

►The death of a U.S. Capitol Police officer who was injured in Wednesday's riot is being investigated as a homicide by federal and local authorities. Any criminal charges related to Officer Brian Sicknick's death will be federal because the events leading up to it happened on federal property, an official with knowledge of the matter said.

►House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ordered the flags at the Capitol to be flown at half-staff to honor Sicknick....

Officer who died after pro-Trump riot was veteran

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who died Thursday from injures he suffered during the pro-Trump riot that breached the U.S. Capitol, was both a veteran and war critic, and the youngest of three sons from New Jersey.

Brian D. Sicknick, 42, died after the attack on the federal building. He was a South River native who served in the New Jersey Air National Guard, but later lamented America's war in Iraq.

Praise for his service poured in from elected officials. And a Capitol Hill staffer who worked with him recalled fond memories of his compassionate behavior, "kind face" and love of fishing.

Police have not confirmed the circumstances of Sicknick’s death. According to two law enforcement officials who spoke to the Associated Press, Sicknick was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher. Read more about Sicknick.

Flip-flop.
Freshman congressman who said 'it's time to fight' now condemns riot

Newly elected Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn condemned the violence at the Capitol earlier this week after encouraging his supporters to fight in the run-up to the insurrection.

The North Carolina congressman spoke at the rally held Wednesday morning before the Trump supporters marched to Congress and ransacked the building, resulting in the death of one Capitol Police officer and four insurrectionists.

“This crowd has some fight in it,” Cawthorn said. “And I am so thankful for each and every one of you.” ...

“January 6th is fast approaching, the future of this Republic hinges on the actions of a solitary few,” Cawthorn tweeted late Monday. “Get ready, the fate of a nation rests on our shoulders, yours and mine. Let’s show Washington that our backbones are made of steel and titanium. It’s time to fight.”

On Tuesday, Cawthorn tweeted out an image that included the hashtag #StopTheSteal, a rallying cry for Trump supporters who have been told by leaders that Democratic officials and rigged voting machines are responsible for Biden’s 306 electoral votes and 7 million-ballot margin in the popular vote.

Two days later, Cawthorn said his rhetoric had nothing to do with the violence in Washington.

“I don’t feel I had any responsibility for them attacking the Capitol,” Cawthorn told WLOS, a North Carolina ABC affiliate. “It was despicable. They are thugs.”
YOU are a despicable, irresponsible, cowardly thug, Maddie.
... The congressman, a primetime speaker at last summer’s Republican National Convention, has been criticized for comments he’s made about Adolf Hitler, lying about his acceptance into the Naval Academy and racist attacks against a journalist. Cawthorn is among the many Republicans who spread disinformation for weeks that Biden’s victory was fraudulent, often fundraising off the claims. That same group — including prominent leaders like Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri — has refused to take responsibility for Wednesday’s siege.

“This election they are coming after Texas. They are coming after the country, and they can’t have it,” Cruz said at an event Monday, indicative of the incendiary rhetoric used. “We will not go quietly into the night, but we will rise to defend liberty. We will rise to defend Texas. We will rise to defend the United States of America.”
Look out, billy.pilgrim, my Maddie is already gaining on your Gaetz.

Government charges Alabama man in connection with Molotov cocktails found amid assault on Capitol

... Capitol Police had responded to two separate reports of a possible explosive device near the Capitol Club and Republican National Committee and at the Democratic National Committee headquarters just before 1 p.m., about a half-hour before the Capitol was breached, according to the affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint against Coffman.

As part of their response, Capitol Police performed an investigative sweep of the area, during which two officers saw a firearm in a red pickup truck with Alabama license plates. The vehicle registration revealed that Coffman was the owner, the affidavit said....

I'm wondering why AF spokes"woman" would say that the AF no longer has jurisdiction over him. He's wearing his military pants and jacket with his military patches. On a hunch, I googled and became more confused.

"All veterans and retired members will conform with the same standards of appearance, military customs, practices, and conduct in uniform prescribed for active-duty.

Prohibited Places and Events for Military Uniforms

There are some places and events where the uniform is prohibited to be worn by discharged and retired members of the military. These include:

At any meeting or demonstration which is anti-government in nature."

https://www.thebalancecareers.com/milit ... ive%2Dduty.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your ... t-affirms/

Based on this article from 2/19, he can be busted down in rank or penalized in some way for just being at the outside Insurrection rally in uniform.

And they should be able to hold him accountable for breaking into the Capitol building.

But then I saw another article from 8/19 that sorta said there would be changes, but Wikipedia (might have this right) sure made it seem like he should be court-martialed.

Horned Capitol rioter is ‘failed actor and QAnon conspiracy theorist who lives with his mother’ — report

Image

A Trump supporter who became known as the ‘QAnon shaman’ after being pictured during riots at the US Capitol is reportedly a “failed actor” and conspiracy theorist described by his mother’s neighbours as “bizarre."

Jacob Angeli Chansley, 33, was charged with entering a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds after he participated in the mob that laid siege to the Capitol on Wednesday....

According to the Daily Mail, Chansley has been living with his 56-year-old mother, Martha, since January 2019 after he was evicted from his apartment in Phoenix, Arizona, owing US$1,247 in rent arrears.

The newspaper reported that Chansley is unemployed, having failed to launch an acting career, and has been seen wandering through his mother’s neighbourhood in Glendale dressed in the same costume he wore to the Capitol riots.

He also has a car bumper sticker with the word ‘WQKE’ and the hashtags ‘#AllAboutTheChildren’ and ‘#TheGreatAwakening’, which are references to the QAnon conspiracy theory movement that believes in the existence of a vast underground pedophile ring.

Chansley is a fixture at anti-lockdown rallies and has been seen at numerous pro-Trump demonstrations over the last year, including one in February where he was photographed holding a sign that read “Q Sent Me”.

In September, Chansley reportedly led a protest at Arrowhead Mall in Glendale, in which he claimed a spiral sign close to the bathrooms in the shopping centre was “an FBI pedophile code”....

Why would he commit suicide?

Was he one of the ones who helped the rioters or was it something personal?
