It's tragic beyond belief that having "served" for two years that she even has any chance of being re-elected or hasn't been run out of Colorado tarred and feathered on a rail. Yeah, I know - she's on the red back side of Colorado, but still. Why wouldn't they have gotten rid of her in the primary? Even if you support her "agenda" whatever that may be, do you really want a moon-barking semi-literate media ho to ummm, "represent" you?

Understanding that there may be more ugly and cruel details that we don't know, it's a longtime Western standard that dogs attacking livestock get shot. No questions, no condemnations, no regrets. It happened to a roommate's puppy for chasing cows, not even attacking them. Sucks, but nothing to be done.

I'll take your word for that, but I'm pretty sure most people in more civilized areas would be aghast. But even assuming she was in the local custom "right" to shoot the dog, then just common human decency would require her to notify the owner.

True, even out West it's not an urban or suburban thing AFAIK.

The neighbor never notified my roommate, though he readily admitted what he did when we found the body. I'm not saying I like it, approve of it or would ever do it without exhausting ALL other options, but it's normal. Depending on the particulars, #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb may not have crossed any Western decency lines.

Given that she knew the dog, Boebert might have a hard time with the "no other means..." part. But in any case, criminal prosecution is not common but civil actions frequently do work.
