Media Thread (non Faux)

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Sounds like it may have been a hack. Mixed feelings. I appreciate the hack - Bravo! - but any trading in child porn, even for a "good cause", is icky. If a hack, I lean towards 'not helpful'.

Otoh, adult submissive Alex Jones porn would be cool.

Opps.
Alex Jones learns on witness stand that lawyer sent his text messages to rival attorneys

... Mark Bankston, a lawyer for the plaintiffs ... explained: “Twelve days ago, your attorneys messed up and sent me an entire digital copy of your entire cellphone with every text message that you’ve sent for the past two years — and when informed, did not take any steps to identify it as privileged or protected.”

In a pretrial deposition, Jones had testified under oath that he had searched his phone for text messages about Sandy Hook in preparation for the trial and found none.

“That is how I know you lied to me when you said you didn’t have any text messages about Sandy Hook,” Bankston told Jones. “Did you know this?”

Jones said he did not, and that he had given his phone to his attorneys.

"I guess this is your 'Perry Mason' moment," he added.

"You know what perjury is, right?" Bankston asked.

“Yes, I do,” Jones replied. “I mean, I’m not a tech guy.”

... Jones, the only witness called by his defense team, began by complaining about media outlets that refuse to report that he now believes that the massacre, which left 20 children and six educators dead, actually happened.

“It's 100% real,” Jones said under direct questioning from his lawyer F. Andino Reynal.
Better, right?
... “I think Sandy Hook happened. I think it was a terrible event,” he said, before adding: “I think it was a cover-up. The FBI knew it was going to happen.”

Under cross-examination, Bankston peppered Jones with questions about statements that have been made on Infowars during the trial, including the suggestion that Judge Maya Guerra Gamble is rigging the proceedings with an actual script, and that Gamble is somehow involved in a pedophilia ring....

Which means he was netting nearly $800k a day. It doesn't take much in the way of facilities, equipment or staff to tell lies.

Speaking truth to power has consequences:
Longtime news analyst fired after calling Trump 'Orange Face' on TV

A political analyst and commentator from a Georgia news station was fired on Monday after claiming former President Donald Trump had a "looming orange face" on television.

Bill Crane, appearing on WSB-TV on Sunday, was discussing the investigation from the Fulton County District Attorney’s office on Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia when he made his comment on Trump, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"Labor Day is when undecided voters and nonaligned voters really start focusing on the election ahead," Crane said during his television appearance. "And keeping Donald Trump and his fantasy of elections being stolen in November of 2020 in play keeps Donald Trump and his looming orange face in front of voters at a time when they're trying to decide how they're going to vote."
... Crane had worked with WSB-TV since 2006 and, before then, provided political analysis for 11Alive from 2000 to 2006.
:( Someone needs to tell WSB-TV that the orange face is a deliberate act, not a disability.

The asshole never went back into court. He just gave a "press conference" and spewed gibberish, then went back to TX.

This is a really long read but very interesting

Hedge Fund Alden Capital buying up and killing American newspapers.

Found it on this thread, which is also a good read. Can't verify if it's real.

Another 😮

https://www.minotdailynews.com/news/loc ... ntability/

Basically, hedge funds buying up things like trailer parks and homes and businesses to extract as much profit from them as possible.

TikToker fact-checks news anchor at American Girl store, makes ‘sickening’ discovery

... Newsmax anchor Rob Finnerty, host of the show “Wake Up America,” claims in a clip from Dec. 12 to have visited the American Girl store in Rockefeller Center in New York City in search of a doll that looked like his little daughter.

However, according to the anchor, he couldn’t find a single doll that resembled his “cute little 6-year-old white girl.” “The whole place was, like, wokeified,” Finnerty reported.

This claim prompted MSNBC reporter Manny Fidel to visit that same American Girl store to see if he could find a “white girl doll” — and his findings are now going viral across TikTok.

https://www.tiktok.com/@msnbc/video/7177098506090433834

... Since its broadcast, the Newsmax clip has made waves online, appearing in viral threads across Reddit and Twitter. “Since I was a little girl you’ve been able to order an American Girls doll that looks exactly like you,” one Reddit user commented.

Customers in search of a fully customized American Girl doll can visit the online “create your own” module, where skin tone, face shape, hairstyle and extras such as braces, hearing aids and glasses can all be personalized.

Over 5,200 TikTokers shared their feelings about the Newsmax segment in the comments section.

“Great investigative reporting,” one user wrote, in praise of Fidel’s segment.

“Thank you for fact checking him. That ‘news anchor’ is absolutely the worst!” another user wrote.

“American Girl needs to reach out to that network. That really is straight up lying,” commented one user.

“This is so annoying because little Black girls (like me) ACTUALLY had to grow up with little representation. It’s not some joke 🙄,” wrote another user.

“Omg. This man trying to claim the average wealthy white child doesn’t have representation is sickening. Wtf?” one user commented.

“Seeing one black doll means there are no white dolls to the racists of the world,” wrote another....
I guess if a White doll or her box touches a non-White doll or her box she's no longer really "White".

 :obscene-birdiered:
It's worse than just lying to Newsmax viewers, who are already racist, gullible, stupid perpetual victims. He also exploited his own daughter in doing so and has exposed her to his own lying racism. What an asshole!
This miserable person is using his child to spread his lies and hate. This is really sad. Anyone that believes anything on Newsmax is sheep and easily duped. I would guess they are also fans of Predator 45.
Just spend the $1000 on Donald Trump's Village People box set of NFT's and stop crying.
If being woke means providing non white child with a doll they can identify with, count me in.
So ..... I'm left wondering what does a MAGA doll look like? I still don't know.
She wears a white hood and carries a burning cross.
Trump with pigtails.
The Right Wing has a special kind of crazy that is just pathetic.
The same persecuted martyrs who keep whining about the so-called "War on Christmas".
You can say anything to a republican and they will believe it as long as it is racist and they get to play the victim...smh
Conservatives are upset that there are dolls that reflect the human gene pool.

She was an ABC News producer. She also was a (RW) corporate operative

Television news producer Kristen Hentschel was doing precisely what journalists should do on a searing hot day in Stuart, Fla., in July 2018: She confronted a politician with unwelcome questions.

Microphone and ABC News business card in hand, Hentschel rushed up to a candidate for the Florida House of Representatives before a debate, the candidate recalls, and asked him about 20 dead gopher tortoises that were reportedly found at a nearby construction site. Florida designates the species as threatened.

As far as the candidate, Toby Overdorf, knew, there were no dead tortoises.

And he would have known. Overdorf, an environmental engineer, served as the wildlife consultant to the construction project. Visibly flustered, Overdorf told Hentschel on camera that he didn't know what she was talking about.

"Residents say they aren't buying it," Hentschel declared in the news-style video she later posted online.

A city investigation found no dead tortoises. In fact, it found no evidence at all that any of the reptiles had ever been present.

That wasn't the only surprise. Though Hentschel has done freelance work for ABC, she was not there for the network.

At the time, a political consulting firm called Matrix LLC had paid Hentschel at least $7,000, the firm's internal ledgers show. And Matrix billed two major companies for Hentschel's work, labeling the payments "for Florida Crystals, FPL." (Florida Crystals is a huge sugar conglomerate. FPL is shorthand for the giant utility Florida Power & Light.) ...

In recent months, Matrix has also been accused of interfering in the workings of democracy in Alabama and Florida by seeking to influence ballot initiatives, running ghost candidates and offering a lucrative job to a public official if he resigned. As Floodlight and NPR have revealed, Matrix secretly maintained financial ties to a half-dozen political news sites and tried to ensure favorable coverage for clients....

It's the damn liberal media's fault. If the media wasn't so bias, we wouldn't have to infiltrate their ranks with our political operatives.
