Niners vs Colts, 10-24-21

San Francisco 49'rs vs Indianapolis Colts, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, 10-24-21.

It's raining heavily in the SF Bay Area.

The football is slippery and screwing up a lot of the plays.

Colts just made a spectacular 57 yard pass. Now 3rd and two. Yikes!

Then a touchdown. Score now 9-7.

SF field goal, score now 12-7. Yay!

Colts make a touchdown, score toward end of 1st half: 13-12 Colts-Niners. Niners have the ball with less than a minute to go.

Score still 13-12, 3rd qtr. I was going to say the slippery ball seems to be interfering with the passing game, but Garapolo just made a good pass to gain about 15 yards, enough to get out of the hole.

Then Garapolo gets sacked, turns over the ball.

Shoot.

Lots of mistakes. Colts score touchdown. Then get the extra point. New score 20-12, Colts.

Rain appears to be shorting out the officials' microphones. Lip reading now needed.

Touchdown SF. Score now 20-18, Colts. Garapolo made two fantastic rainsoaked passes.

Well, it's all but over. Nine seconds left, score is 30-18, Colts-SF.

Tough break for SF. Garapolo missed a game last due to injury. I wonder if he was fully recovered from that.

And then the rain. The Niner's probably haven't seen much if any rain for seven months or more, at least not at home.

It was kind of fun to watch people trying to deal with the slippery ball and field, though. Almost as much fun as mud-wrestling.
