In theory, nobody likes the IRS - the "tax men" the "revenooers" etc. But a lot of those people really like getting their refund promptly and accurately. I don't get refunds, so I don't really care, but slow processing has been a widespread complaint over the past few years. I don't know whether the IRS needs 87K new agents or not, but fershure they need some. Repugs are fundamentally stupid.

Supposedly, they're not really "new". Many are covering a multi-year hiring freeze or will cover 50K (?) anticipated retirements in the next couple of years or so. , I haven't really looked into it, but many are saying that it's a dishonest GQP freak out.

I doubt if they'll get anything out of Congress for two years, other than the required budget that will eventually get passed after massive posturing, drama, threats and general panic-generating.

The train wreck that is the Republican party is about to turn into a rudderless ship.

He'll probably get the speakership eventually, but he will also be diminished even more than he already is.

Zero legislation will be signed into law in the next two years amidst the government shutdowns which will accomplish nothing and eventually will reopen under some sort of continuing resolution that will ultimately cost the taxpayers more than not shutting down.

Then they'll blame the Democrats.

The outlook for 2024 is looking up.

Given the batch of crazies making it mainstream in Congress, I wonder what the chances are the US actually defaults this time around?
