Katherine Smith, of Henderson, said she was lured into this scam after seeing a post on Facebook advertising purebred Yorkshire Terriers for sale. She wanted to get one for her grandson whom she was raising after he lost his mom.

Awww, but grandson would have been just as happy with a rescue, and ultimately happier with a grandma that isn't so gullible. Grandsons all want yellow labs , and are just as thrilled with yellow lab mixes. Only grandmas want purebred Yorkshire Terriers.

Ftr, Henderson, North Carolina is in Vance County, 4+ hours from Hendersonville and Henderson County. Go figure. It's even dumber than having Greenvilles 5+ hours away from each other in adjacent Carolinas.
