BREAKING: Trump‘s MAGA execs pop champagne and run up MASSIVE expenses at the Kennedy Center while artists and staff panic over their jobs.
As musicians and stagehands at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts wonder whether they’ll even have jobs after Donald Trump abruptly shut the place down for two years, Trump-aligned insiders have been living it up like it’s the Ritz — on the public’s dime.
Newly exposed receipts show senior MAGA-installed executives running up thousands of dollars in champagne, fine dining, and luxury hotels as attendance cratered and the institution slid toward chaos. One jaw-dropping tab totaled nearly $11,000 for meals featuring $175 bottles of Veuve Clicquot, shrimp cocktails, racks of lamb, Hendrick’s gin, and Negronis. Picking up the check? The Kennedy Center.
Among the names on that boozy bill: Nick Meade, a former aide to Kennedy Center interim president Ric Grenell, now installed as VP of governance; Rick Louhery, the Center’s EVP; and marketing chief Taylor Strand.
And the indulgence didn’t stop at dinner. The Center reportedly paid $740 for Meade’s birthday celebration, shelled out $4,000 for a “Chinese Buffets for the Ambassador,” and ran multiple invoices for “champagne services.” There was even a $400 delivery of bottled water for the so-called “Israeli Lounge.”
Then came the lodging spree.
Roughly $30,000 went to luxury stays at the Watergate Hotel, where rooms can run up to $700 a night — or $1,600 if you want the infamous “Scandal Room.” Executives and Grenell associates checked in while staff were left completely in the dark about layoffs, cancellations, or refunds.
Meanwhile, leadership launched a last-minute membership blitz, urging Americans to renew memberships costing up to $25,000, promising a bright future — all while refusing to answer basic questions about whether the doors would even reopen.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, an ex-officio member of the Kennedy Center board, is now investigating the spending, accusing Trump of turning the Kennedy Center into a “clubhouse for his pals.”
The contrast couldn’t be starker: Workers get silence. Members get billed. Execs get champagne. And Trump calls it “renovation” while America’s cultural crown jewel is stripped for parts.
Opps.Trump Goon Melts Down After Latest Kennedy Center Cancellation
President Donald Trump loyalist and Kennedy Center boss Richard Grenell is raging again after another performance group canceled its event at the once-renowned arts venue.
The San Francisco Ballet announced it had withdrawn from a five-day run at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts scheduled for May, prompting a pointed response from Grenell, 59.
... For his part, Grenell has repeatedly appeared to grow enraged as artists scrap shows at the venue, citing concerns about Trump and his administration.
“You just made it political and caved to the woke mob who wants you to perform for only Lefties,” Grenell posted on X, channelling MAGA talking points, after Grammy-winning bluegrass performer Béla Fleck withdrew from a planned concert at the venue in January.
Duh.Critics, however, argue that it was Trump himself who politicized the venue when he slapped his name on the arts institution—a move that reportedly contributed to ticket sales plummeting since his takeover.
You're doing a great job, MAGA.
Did you ever wonder what you'd have done during the rise of fascism? You're doing it right now.

Remember the last month of his first term? Holed up in the White House, no public anything, "the president is making many phone calls and having many meetings? "

Re: Surviving a second Trump admin*
Y'know, I can understand some people liking Trump. He's good at saying things that make some people drool with anticipation. If you've got a job that you're afraid some immigrant will take away from you; or if you think that just because the family who moved into your neighborhood doesn't speak English very well that they're going to eat your cats; or if you live in Nebraska and have never been anywhere close to a border and envision it as one massive throng of dirty unwashed criminals storming the poor defenceless guards; or if you're just tired of them educated "elites" not listening to you; or if you just want to say "fuck you" to the country and like having a leader* who'll say "yeah, fuck them."
And I've liked some politicians in my lifetime and for some I was willing to overlook some things I didn't like. But I've never followed anyone with the complete mindless fervor of the Trumpers. I generally liked LBJ, but not his war and didn't have any problem standing in front of the White House yelling at him, "hey hey LBJ, how many kid did you kill today?" I think Carter was a good man, a good ex-President, but I didn't care for him in office much. I really liked Clinton, but didn't have any problem expressing objection or dissatisfaction with various issues. Taking the most recent Presidents I've like the most - Clinton and Obama - if they had done any of the type of stuff Trump does daily, I would have been way off their bandwagon. Maybe I wouldn't want to replace them with a repug, but with somebody, and in the meantime I would have joined with anybody who might affect what they did. I'd gladly have said "yeah, I voted for him, but I was scammed and this is awful"
No matter what Trump does, Trumpers make excuses or sometimes just refuse to believe their own eyes. He really could shoot someone ... (else)

I miss Biden.
Even on his worst day walking into doors he'd be a massive improvement to this clusterfuck.

"the US effectively shut off the flow of oil to Cuba"
No need to take additional steps.
Cuba first, but the world is learning the peril and cost of being oil-dependent.

Maybe once he finds out Cuba's over sixteen years old he'll lose interest.
