Ingrassia texted a group of Republicans that he has a “Nazi streak,” adding that the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be “tossed into the seventh circle of hell.” After the texts were made public by Politico on Monday, several Republican senators said they would not support his nomination, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune.

Thanks, hominy. The entire event was sort of spontaneous. I didn't even know of it myself until I was suddenly grabbed by the throat and hustled into a dimly lit warehouse sort of place. It was there that I was honored by about six people I'd never seen and given this award. No idea if any video exists; the whole thing was over in three minutes and everybody left out of separate doors and whisked away in half a dozen different color of cars. They left me standing there on the street with a flashy medal and ribbon around my still discolored neck.
