It sure as hell was for Mark Meadows; he just gave up there at the last. And with all the free time he's had since 1-6-21 he's had lots of time to go and register to vote in other states.

To be fair, HabbaDabbaDoo was neither fired nor quit. She was barred by the courts and we don't know where she'll land. It's been a remarkably stable admin*. Shifting Mike Waltz from national security advisor to United States ambassador in the wake of Signalgate was a major change, lateral or demotion, but that's about it.

Otoh, word is that Oingo Bongino is leaving the FBI.

"Only the best..."
While prosecutors typically hold the upper hand in court, the Department of Justice under President Donald Trump has recently seen an alarming number of cases collapse.

‘Mass exodus’

The DOJ saw a ‘mass exodus’ of more than 2,900 attorneys under the Trump admin.

Legal experts largely blame the recent surge on the departure of senior DOJ officials and career prosecutors, whether fired, encouraged to resign, retired or simply moved on.

Between January and November in 2025, the DOJ saw a “mass exodus” of “more than 2,900 attorneys — triple the number who departed in each of the previous four years,” according to Reuters’ Sarah N. Lynch.

Experts say this “loss of institutional knowledge” has contributed to “unprecedented errors.”

At least 4 more bite the dust:
Top DOJ officials quit after their division refused to probe Minnesota ICE shooting
At least four leaders of the Civil Rights Division resigned because the section's head, Harmeet Dhillon, decided not to investigate shooting of Renee Good.

All part of the coverup I mentioned as soon as the FBI seized control of the case. Hey DoJ, SoupySales is loyal and available.

Speaking of potential prosecutions, it's been said that a decent prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. Jeanine Pirro, who has been in office less than 8 months has already been rejected by grand juries at least 8 times. Opps.

Yeah, I heard about the government prosecutors resigning. Good on them.

This bunch are different from the federal civil rights attorneys who have resigned in DC. Renee Good did not die in vain.
Joe Thompson, Minnesota's top federal fraud prosecutor, quits over ICE shooting probe

Joe Thompson, the career U.S. Justice Department attorney best known for prosecuting social services fraud in Minnesota, has resigned along with other experienced attorneys at the Minnesota U.S. Attorney's Office.

The move comes after top Justice Department officials pushed the Minnesota U.S. Attorney's Office to investigate the widow of Renee Macklin Good, the person shot and killed last week by ICE agent Jonathan Ross, MPR News has learned.
Her widow??? Seriously? :obscene-birdiered:
Thompson, 47, also objected to the DOJ's decision to exclude the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension from the investigation into the shooting and the department's reluctance to investigate Ross, according to a person familiar with Thompson's decision.

Veteran assistant U.S. attorneys Melinda Williams, Harry Jacobs, and Thomas Calhoun-Lopez also resigned. The prosecutors were also concerned that immigration enforcement is diverting resources away from prosecuting major fraud cases in the state.
Good on U.S. attorneys with principles. :happy-cheerleaderkid:
... On social media, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey lauded Thompson and the other prosecutors who resigned as heroes.

“The people pushing to prosecute Renee's widow are monsters,” he added. “In their pursuit of cruelty, the administration also just set back the work of fighting fraud by pushing out the prosecutors who were working on those cases.” ...
Yup.

Trump nominates White House aide to be top US prosecutor for office probing Letitia James

President Donald Trump said Saturday that he would be nominating senior White House aide Lindsey Halligan to serve as the top federal prosecutor for the Virginia office that was thrown into turmoil when its U.S. attorney was pushed out Friday....
She's clearly qualified, Wiki:
Otherwise, she's defended insurers :puke-left: worked as Dementia Don's personal attorney :puke-left: :puke-left: , and was working on making the Smithsonian PC, White Supremacy-style :puke-left: :puke-left: :puke-left: , nothing else. Trump-Appointed Prosecutor Who Pursued Indictments Against The President's Foes Is Leaving Post
Her departure comes as her 120-day tenure as interim U.S. attorney had expired and as judges were raising questions about the legitimacy of her appointment.

... The move brings an end to a brief but tumultuous tenure. Trump tapped Halligan, a White House aide who had served as his personal lawyer but had no prior experience as a federal prosecutor, to lead one of the Justice Department’s most important and prestigious offices. She quickly succeeded in securing indictments at Trump’s urging against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. But a judge later concluded that her appointment was unlawful and that the two indictments must therefore be dismissed.

The Trump administration had kept Halligan in place despite that ruling, but on Tuesday, two judges made clear that they believed it was time for her tenure to end. Hours later, Halligan became the latest Trump ally to give up her title amid scrutiny from judges about the administration’s maneuvering to install the president’s loyalists in key posts. Last month, for instance, another of Trump’s former personal attorneys, Alina Habba, resigned after an appeals court said she, too, had been serving in her position unlawfully.
:---P :---P
In a separate order, U.S. District Judge David Novak said he was striking the words “United States Attorney” from the signature block of an indictment in a case that was before him as well as barring Halligan from continuing to present herself with that title. He said he would initiate disciplinary proceedings against Halligan if she violated his order and persisted in identifying herself in court filings as a U.S. attorney, and said other signatories could be subject to discipline as well.

“No matter all of her machinations, Ms. Halligan has no legal basis to represent to this Court that she holds the position. And any such representation going forward can only be described as a false statement made in direct defiance of valid court orders,” Novak wrote. “In short, this charade of Ms. Halligan masquerading as the United States Attorney for this District in direct defiance of binding court orders must come to an end.”

Novak, who was appointed to the bench by Trump during the Republican president’s first term in office, chided Justice Department leadership for what he suggested was an improperly antagonistic defense of Halligan by Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in an earlier court filing.

“Ms. Halligan’s response, in which she was joined by both the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, contains a level of vitriol more appropriate for a cable news talk show and falls far beneath the level of advocacy expected from litigants in this Court, particularly the Department of Justice,” Novak wrote.

“The Court will not engage in a similar tit-for-tat and will instead analyze the few points that Ms. Halligan offers to justify her continued identification of her position as United States Attorney before the Court,” he added....

Can't decide if I'd like to see Pete Hegseth or Pam Bondi go next. Everytime I hear Hegseth speak I get second hand embarrassment and cringe at the thought of a grown ass adult speaking like he's a twelve year old Call of Duty player, but on the other hand Pam Bondi's sole purpose is to protect abusers. Seems like Bondi is the worst of the two.

Kash Patel is a definite third. As others have said, he's basically just a podcaster that struck it big and was handed a government sponsored make a wish grift

I no longer care very much which clown he's gonna keep or replace - undoubtedly with someone equally or worse ummm "qualified." The thing with big personalities like ICE Barbie is that you can see a lot of what they're doing - in part because they spend so much time telling you what they're doing. Get somebody with a lower profile and not such a loud mouth and they can do a lot of damage before you find out about it.

 Go for it.

Top US counterterrorism official resigns over Iran war, urging Trump to 'reverse course'

... In a letter posted to X, National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent said that Iran posed "no imminent threat" to the US and claimed the administration "started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby".

... In the letter addressed to Trump, Kent alleged that "high-ranking Israeli officials" and influential US journalists had sowed "misinformation" that led the president to undermine his "America First" platform.

"This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States," the letter continued. "This was a lie."

Kent, a long-time supporter of Trump who unsuccessfully ran for Congress twice, was nominated by the president early in his administration and narrowly confirmed to his post. Democrats had criticised Kent's hiring of a member of the far-right Proud Boys as a consultant to his 2022 election bid.

In his confirmation hearings, Kent also refused to back away from claims that federal agents had fomented the January 2021 riot at the US Capitol, or that Trump had not been defeated in the 2020 election.

... Kent, 45, is a US special forces and CIA veteran whose wife, navy cryptologic technician Shannon Kent, was killed in a suicide bombing in Syria in 2019.

The father-of-two deployed 11 times overseas with the US military, including with the US Army's special forces in Iraq.

He later became a paramilitary officer at the CIA, before leaving government service following his wife's death.

Kent cited his military service and his wife's death in his letter, saying that he "cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives".

... In a brief interview with the New York Times, conservative media commentator Tucker Carlson praised Kent, with whom he has close personal ties.

"Joe is the bravest man I know, and he can't be dismissed as a nut," Carlson said. "He's leaving a job that gave him access to the highest-level relevant intelligence. The neocons will try to destroy him for that."

"He understands that and did it anyway," he added.

There have been a number of resignations among senior officials in the Trump administration, including Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement director Margaret Ryan and Kennedy Center head Ric Grenell....
